Wow. Good thing I eat a high-fat diet, otherwise I'd be dangerously brainy.

Yea, too much brain power could cause some serious problems or is it that it could solve more serious problems.

I'd be offended if I had the energy to put down this cheezeburger... What?

I love a great burger now and then. Lots of times we just use a 90% lean for our burgers.

I call bullshite. I eat a lot of fatty foods, but I also work out regularly and am quite smart if I do say so myself. So bull!

Yes.. you is smart and a smart a#$ too but we love that about you. There are always exceptions to the rule. Basically, though it really is just that high fat foods (bad fat) tend to make people's bodies and brains a bit lethargic. The study didn't account for people who are very active & exercising regularly.

Then why have the Omega 3 fatty acids
    1. tcinvestor
Saturated fat is bad and polysaturated fat is bad. Mono saturated fat and Omega 3 fatty acids are good. Moderation is key, animal fat should be reduced, healthier fats like olive oil and fat from nuts like almonds and walnuts are very good.

There are fats and there are fats. Omega 3, 6 and 9. The ratio of 3 to Omega 6 is wrong in the US. Not enough omega 3 fatty acids in our diets. Saturated fats is most likely the fats the article talks about making people fat and lazy. Of course it does, lazy because the body is working hard at digesting all that saturated fat. And fat because of all the calories in foods that have saturated fats.

Good points Sam. Yes, tis true about the imbalance of the ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 fatty acids in the American diet.

On second thoughts, people on BC should read this - then perhaps they will post better on discussion board. Presently the posts are exactly that - stupid and slow

LOL. Maybe there is too much junk food clouding people's brains.

So me getting up at mid-night almost every night for the past 20 years and eating a bowl of ice cream has kept me from being another Albert Einstein.

Seriously we all need to find a balance in our lives. I want to encourage all of you to eat more fresh veggies, less red meet, more fish, and less sugar.

I will be right back talking about ice cream just made me hungry.
    1. tcinvestor
Oh man I miss Ice Cream. I used to eat it by the ton when I was younger. It is a rare occasion now. You are right about balance. We all need a bit more of that.
