With the high costs of medical care and exorbitant cost of health insurance, are you changing your lifestyles to become healthier?

I know lots of people who are dropping their health insurance plans because of the high costs. Do you feel that this is causing people to take a greater interest in their health without the convience of running to the doctor with every ailment?

Are you taking more of an interest in holistic and alternative health?

Or, are people just not being treated for ailments that need convential intervention because of the soaring costs of medical care?

I feel that we have reached a time where we need to be much more conscious of our own wellbeing.

I don't think I needed high health care costs to become more proactive in how I live. The high costs affect me in other ways, like when I seek out cheaper medications or sometimes try to do without. Often a stupid move, but I mention it, because it is a reality for so many people.

Personally, I find the more I see my doctor, the sicker I get. Illness is his business, afterall. As a result I haven't seen a doctor in over a year now (& I feel great.)
I also don't seem to have the typical fear of death, which frees me to live life to the fullest. I'd rather enjoy the cheesecake today than leave a good looking corpse tomorrow.
The Canadian health care system blows the Amerikan one out of the water, however. I can attest to that, for sure.

Well, I agree with the two previous posters really. I don't think anyone here is fooled into believing that the current health care state of caca-poopoo is anything that's great.

Then again, I've always been a fan of alternative medicines, and health options. And I have always been weary of doctors.

    SO, there ya have it

I find that alcohol masks most of my symptoms.

I don't have to change my lifestyle because in my country we have a free health care system so I smoke and drink to excess and love it!
