I have a photo of one of Atlanta, Georgia's most popular and well established disc jockeys (DJs);DJ Infamous. He has managed to break several musicians into mainstream media as well as keep some of the most popular musicians in it with his twists on music and 'niche for beats' or rhythms.
Unfortunately due to the flooding that happened in the Greater Atlanta area, this DJ with the magic touch has been displaced losing valuable equipment;his livelihood rather. Aside from having a family consisting of a newborn son, the emphasis is placed on his equipment loss and overall material possessions;no regards to life.
In the picture, he is wearing fine clothes, and extravagant jewelry, while being well coiffed/polished in a house furnished in pure opulence.
This man has been in the entertainment business for years and have touched and tinkered with many artists'/musicians' music along the way to be quite successful and well heard of;especially in the Southeast considering that that is where the man hails from, so how is it that he is asking fans to donate money and clothing to him and his family when it is somewhat apparent that he really doesn't need it?
He is an entertainer;produces music boosting other entertainers' careers and receive well into the 6 figures from it.
It is interesting how all of a sudden how some entertainers need the very people that they often times look down on simply because their celebrity friends aren't helping them out.
Is that selfishness on their part? or is it just the way the entertainment business really works?
Does the entertainment industry value possession of material wealth over life that much and teach its employees to do or be the same?
Does entertainment industry teach its employees to devalue the very people, the fans, who put them in their position until further notice?
Speaking of the entertainment industry, I really thought that it was a grand fraternity that is about helping out their own rather than relying on the 'little people' to act on either of their behalf -- but as it has always been said, the same people that you meet and look down upon on your way up, will be the same people that you meet and look up to on your way down.
Life as entertainer/celebrity shouldn't be so rough....just think, I almost felt sorry for him until I saw 'the glitz'.
