This is Karen Cooper and Moses. Moses is a Nigerian boy that was left in an orphanage due to the fear of his condition, cerebral palsy. When Karen met Moses he was in a dirty crib. For More info on Moses visit Karen's site at:

I have three sons so am in no position for adoption right now. I sure do hope that he finds a loving home.

It's not an adoption thing. She's fundraising to bring him to America for treatment. If not treated it could lead to more complications.

Is there a good chance of him being able to stay here in America for good. I know our country is not perfect, but doesn't seem like he has a fair shake at life where he is at.

I don't know what she has planned. I spoke to her over the phone. She needs to raise $10,000 to get him here to a speacialist. I was so thrilled that she took the time out to call me back that's a question I should have asked.

I will post an ad over at Flugpo to try and raise some attention towards the cause.

Shirley, are you really sure about this? I don't mean to suggest anything negative and I don't have any particular reason to be suspicious, but it would be so easy to throw up a quick website like this with little information, no contact information except a cell phone and an email address attached to a free hosting site...and it says that he's coming to the US for medical screening in the spring of 2008 which is pretty much over.

It was listed in Minnesota's paper. I spoke on the phone with the reporter as well as Karen Cooper herself.

Karen Cooper emailed me. I gave her the link to this discussion this is what she had to say:

Good morning, Shirley. I just wanted to thank you for spreading the word about Moses and the Hope For Moses Fund mission. It is people like you who really make a difference in our world. Your web site is great. I read some of the blogs (and tried to reply but was unable). I changed the web site info to address some of the concerns your friends had.
I wish you the best, and thanks again for your support!
    With gratitude,
    Karen Cooper
