I was just rummaging through my friends here on BC to add the ones I could find on Mybloglog when it hit me.

Something that would help both old and new bloggers is a simple "user stats" page. where we can see what the different social media sites are doing.

Could it be that hard to make a page where we could see things like

56% of our users have twitter
72% of our users have Digg accounts.
etc.

I for one would love to get a quick overview of what the blogging community is doing. Would make it easy to see where to focus the energy.

It's a great idea though the challenge is to get all members to share what social networks they are on. I just saw numbers today and out of the 104,000 bloggers on blogcatalog, approx. 6,000 have updated their profiles to show the other social networks they belong to.

Another challenge is just because you only show your Stumble page, or Digg membership doesnt mean you dont have a Twitter or Technorati account.

Yes i do understand that problem.

I think it would also be an incentive to get more people to list their accounts.

So it could actually be a feature that evolves itself and the other features of BC.

True though at the moment the numbers we have are pretty insignificant.
