I am looking for a way to add ABOUT ME, LINKS, FRIENDS AND FAMILIES BLOGS, BLOGROLL etc. tabs on the side bar of my blog (instead of having the tabs at the top on the blog). Does anyone know how can it be done?

Create a vertical nav bar as opposed to a horizontal nav bar. In essence the same hack but on the side instead of across the top. Create posts and link them to the nav bar and backdate them (fake static pages). Alternatively, switch to wordpress (joking!)

Do you have a link which explains faking static page?

Thank you. I'll give it a short see how it works out.

Ok, I didn't explain very well my requirement.

Actually, what I want is more like a link which on being clicked takes the reader on a different page. I have an idea that it can be done by adding a static page but I want this link to appear on the left side bar on my blog. I couldn't find any easy to follow code instructions. If you do, please send me the link to the page.

There are no easy to follow code instructions for this hack that I know of. There are instructions for the hack of creating a horizontal nav bar, linking posts to it, and backdating them. I have to go to a doctor's appointment now but I have posted the links before so they will be in the Discussion Search box.

OOPS! Here you go but you will have to "mutate" and/or "adapt".

    < a href="URLofAboutPage" title="About My Owl Barn" > About Me < /a >

Assuming there can be a "page" or URL about yourself... if not, just write something up - since it's blogspot - and link to the page in the sidebar manually in your template (after the Subscribe via Email section)

Thanks for the tip. I so wish right now that my blog was in WP. I'll give it a try.

Yes, that is the big advantage of word-press, the ability to make pages, though you could make a post and link to it as a separate page as has already been suggested - www.bloggingtips.com/2008/04/28/creating-static-pages-with-blogger/. Not near as nice as the pages option though.

If you want it to be on the sidebar
Just make the different post such as an ABOUT ME post and change the date is that it is say Jan 1, 2009.

Then you can use the "LINK LIST" widget to link to each post.
