   A site my son used to like is PBS Kids: pbskids.org/
   He knew the characters from TV, but some of the material is good even if you don't know them.

   I think you should just integrate the internet into your child's everyday life.
   
   So if they're interested in a computer game, then help them google some cheats, or if they're into cars, help them google a car site and then show them how to bookmark it etc.

   just leave the internet connection on, keep the browser open.........and don't forget to install a parental lock, you can use Norton Internet Security and put some stringent restrictions........
   
   and tell the kids just the basics, let the kids explore the web all by themselves, only then they can become experts!

   I don't have any kids, but I thought it would be the other way around .... Put a computer in the room and tell your kids not to touch it - and, after a week or so have THEM teach you the internet
