Using FaceBook as a resource for business is still very new. In fact, a lot of people still think of FaceBook as a means to be able to connect with fellow college buddies. That use to be true. FaceBook was initially designed for use by college students - first those attending Harvard, and later those attending other ivy league schools. A lot has changed in four years, though. fast forwarding to TODAY, anyone over the age of 13 can open a free account at FaceBook and start interacting with others. Believe it or not, there are more than 80 million people using FaceBook.

Since FaceBook has become open to non-college students, some of the most famous Internet Marketers, MLMers and Major Corporations have found that FaceBook is more than just a way to connect with old friends and to meet new friends, it can also be used as a valuable marketing tool.

I have personally found that FaceBook allows me to interact with people on a more personal level, which in turn builds even greater trust and stronger relationships with customers and potential customers.

FaceBook is no longer a ‘little known secret.’ It’s been blown wide open, and it is essential that you start using it and including social networking in your Business Building endeavors - just as the most influential Internet Marketers, MLMers and Major Corporations are already doing.

In closing, I need to stress that marketing on FaceBook successfully, is not as simple as creating a new account and hoping someone will come. When creating your profile, make sure that you include the website addresses for your business, and for your main URL, use the one that links to a page on your website where people can get more information about you, your experience, and other information that makes you an expert in your field.

When you have finished creating your profile, I would highly advise that you have a few other people review your profile for you. Be sure to check your page for spelling and grammatical errors. Before I created my profile, I looked at some of the other marketers to make sure that I was on the right track, all the while making sure as to not duplicate theirs. Being unique is paramount.

That’s it for now. Stay tuned for more tips on how you can build your empire the FaceBook way.

To be honest, my opinion is that letting your business grow on facebook is far from new; it's old or nearly dead.

Old, because in the end it is nothing more but another medium for networking activities.

Nearly dead, because marketing/promotion of a company via facebook is near to its rebound effect. People are getting more and more aggitated of seeing the newest company profile.

If you do it, it should be done with care, or you could create more damage than growth.

That's what I'm hearing also and I'm aware that some internet marketers have been banned from Facebook.

Yes, if facebook would continue getting raped by marketers like this, then facebook faces the end of its days. They're starting to realise that too now, there's far too much competition in the social media to play with fire like that.

Facebook is my 2nd highest traffic generator on my blog. I just post the links to my new posts on there. And my traffic is about 6000 readers per month!
    1. lonnierobinson
JamCan that is awesome. Are you tracking in income conversions in relation to that traffic? If so, I would be interested to know. thanks for sharing!

Not really tracking income because adsense kinda sucks LOL. Not really worth it. I'm just buying my time til I start soliciting direct advertisers. My traffic has become insane in the last little while so I should be able to do better.

Hi lonnierrobinson, nice information you provide. I think that building relationships by interacting with people is important. The main thing is to provide value to people who are interested in what you are all about and what you do.

Whatever way you use to make contact with these people is the same except it's always best to use the places that people are moving to like Twitter.

The way you set up your profile is important the way I see it but as long as you're providing some kind of value for your target audience you should create relationships long term instead of people who have to learn why they should trust you.

I'll tell you what. We use Facebook for a lot of clients and it is useless to open Facebook account to spam random users. Facebook is the best tool to stay in touch with previous clients / customers and make them come back.

"Facebook is the best tool to stay in touch with previous clients / customers and make them come back."

I totally agree. Updating or introducing your new products by posting subtly about them on your wall is an effective way to touch basis with your clients or to bring them back.
