Is there any where I can set my account to require that I approve people who want to add me as their "friends"? I am very uncomfortable with being listed on people's pages (and having them listed on mine) before i can check out what they are writing about. I think this is important - for example, I have my own political views and don't want to be listed as a "friend" of bloggers who represent ideologies I don't support. I also DO NOT accept any paid placements on my blog and, although I believe that everyone has a right to make their own decision in this regard, I do not want to be listed as a "friend" of these blogs...

Is there a setting that allows me to control who can use my likeness on their blog and represent to the public that I am a friend/supporter?

That is how all of these sites work. This may not be the place for you.

I don't care really who adds me. You just get more exposure. A friend on here is not the same as a friend in real life, so don't worry.

I write about my life in a country house in Tuscany where I decided to move running away from the city. My dream is to create such a kind of "biosphera" but it is a long term plan.
Anyway into the blog there is a google translator so you can try to use it to understand a little bit and laugh a lot for the way google trnslate. Otherwise you can start learning Italian.

      Making Friends at BC
Instructions for adding friends and for adding blogs as favorites are found by clicking the Help link found on every BC page
      www.blogcatalog.com/help/

      (1) Prior approval of friend requests is not in place at Blog Catalog. If another member adds you as a friend you have the choice of reciprocating or not, as you so choose.
      (2) You can delete any member that you previously added as a friend, but you cannot delete yourself when someone has added you as a friend and you prefer not to be added.
      (3) On the BC profile page of those members who have added you as a friend you will see your avatar has been automatically added. If you reciprocate then your avatar will appear on their BC profile page under Friends.
      (4) If you do not reciprocate then your avatar will automatically appear on their BC profile page under Is also a friend of.

someone friends you on bc, they are following you.. its like twitter..

just because they want to hear what you say, doesn't mean you are obliged to hear what they say.. I thought people love such power, not loathe it

I don't understand why you think posting links to tutorials for creating a favicon amounts to answering the question posed in the OP in this thread.

The question is: Is there a setting that allows me to control who can use my likeness on their blog and represent to the public that I am a friend/supporter?

        The correct answer is: No.

      mobilenokian72--you are very naughty!

Go to your room and don't come out until you learn not to hijack discussions with cheap self promotion.

      BAD mobilenokian72
