Hey Good Peeps at the Catalog,

I'm so down in the dumps right now. I spend so much time blogging that my wrists are bruised! I'm constantly trying to get more traffic so I'm in forums after forums and I've found a little success. This backlink speak has me a little confused. Apparently, it's a great way to get real traffic without paying a lot of money. So can someone please respond and help your girl out!

There are quick and slow ways to get back-links. The quick way is to exchange links with people, but that can lead to trouble, because really you only want relevant links. There is some pretty good information in this thread: www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/diggs-stumble-upon-visit-4-visit-removal

The slow and more valuable way is just to build content and be patient. Active participation here can lead to traffic too.

Putting meaningful comments on other people's blogs can lead to traffic, and eventually links.

Finally, you can put meaningful comments on people who "do follow". For more on that see www.bumpzee.com/no-nofollow/

Put your blog into some GOOD blog directories, not a ton, but a decent number of good ones. If you write a couple of good articles, post them to a few social bookmarking sites. Only post a few though.

Write good content and wait for the search engines to pick you up. Post your link in forums and write comments on other blogs (but don't post your link in the comment).

Eventually the backlinks will come! To start though, definitely post to blog directories.

I put my blog in blogcatalog of course, bloghub, blogexplosion and a few more. I guess patience is a virtue in this case. My blog has only been in existence since 6/8. Thanks so much

you can post your article here ( www.italiensk.info/News ) and get backlinks for each page + all the fave, stumbel and dig.

very easy read the help and just bookmark the Bookmarklet in your favorite browser. After that, the only thing you have to do to start submitting a story is to click the bookmarklet in your browser.

Getting traffic can take time. Don't be in a rush ... keep doing what you do, network when you can, but you really need to take breathers and get away from the computer. You might get some insight into new things you can do to increase your popularity once you spend some quality time *not* blogging and foruming.

I do think this is a new blogger mistake asking how to get back link. Doesn’t focus on that … concentrate to your content then share it and if people like it they will create a link to your blog. Its take time to build something huge so you better really like blogging otherwise quit.

I just had a look at your blog. It really has a lot of posts for such a short time. I'm not sure how regular readers could even keep up. It also covers a wide variety of topics, maybe too wide. I wonder if you should try to focus on a couple areas. And if you many interests, maybe you need more than one blog to cover them. I also wonder if the many ads aren't a bit too distracting. You might want to reduce their number and concentrate on attracting readers first. Lastly, I would suggest you would get rid of that big Technorati thing saying how much your blog is supposedly worth. That could suggest to your readers that your priorities are purely financial, as opposed to building valuable content (which can translate into $$$s, but first things first).

      Hey stoneman,

You're really a good associate to have! I took your advice and made some changes, so if you would do me a fave and take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks a Bunch

You've certainly cleaned up the look of the site. Now how about tightening the focus and maybe starting another blog?

The idea below of writing articles for other sites might make sense too. I know nothing about that kind of thing, but I've heard people talk about it. I think usually you write for free and get a backlink. I personally couldn't do that, because I can't be writing all the time, but your level of productivity suggests you could do it.

agree with stoneman, you have tons of posts. Your readers may find it hard to keep up...

Oh wow! Thanks so much for the suggestions! I definitely will take some things off. Also, I guess it's hard for me to focus on one thing, hence All Things Scorpia, but after some serious thought maybe I will consider having two blogs. I figured the more content, the more readers. I'm definitely not just about money. I just started posting stories even before I knew about backlinks, affiliates, adsense, I had no clue. I'm fixing to take some stuff off right now, I can definitely see how it's distracting visitors. Thanks and Much Love

how about writing some good articles and syndicate them on some articles sites. if your article is hosted on other sites, you're getting good valuable link backs.

I second that. Write articles and sell them or submit them to article directories.

      Sign up at blog directories.

Not to get us off topic here but I really want to give props to the BC community. I can't believe how quickly a newcomer can post a question and get REALLY great answers from everyone.

It's just really nice to see everyone band together as a REAL community and help each other out.

I second that nine! It will take time to focus on another blog stoneman, but me and my co-author will be committing to three stories a day and one vid of the day. I have made a little change from sponsered reviews.com. It's a really cool site for someone who enjoys writing. I submited to goarticles.com, so I'm taking all You guys suggestions and putting them to use, again thanks so much! peace and much love
