How do I make money from my blog?

I know I'm probably asking for a barrage of spam, but I wondered how to make money from my wordpress blog.
On my last trip to Iraq I had about 2000 readers. My travel blog visitors tend to be pretty loyal. I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't skint. But need to justify time spent blogging somehow. I don't want to do anything that would damage the credibility of my brand.
Can anyone help?

Well, if you're careful, Ad's could be the way to go, but I've kept myself away from that just out of class. Be careful with it - you could damage your brand if you go too far - but if you do just a little bit it may work! -
have better page impressions.
you can try one of those affiliates programs with amazon and display quality items on your blog.
like some books and good literature from amazon out for sale.

Dear Nomadic, I think you have more visitors than you had stated.
Just try adsense . But you can't do that in Wordpress.com blog. Host your own blog (wordpress software recommended).

As weblogian already said, on you can't make money on wordpressCOM. That means no ads, but you still ask for PayPal donations. Personal reviews of books from amazon with links to amazonCOM is also acceptable on wordpressCOM. As to traffic, looking at your Quantcast profile, ads is not an option, there simply nowhere near enough traffic (on the wordpress blog). Donations from loyal readers would probably work best on the wordpress blog. For your other blog I would go with an affiliate program like amazon. -

I've probably answered this a hundred times either on Source Blogger or Blog Catalog...
let me try to add a new twist... or maybe a review...
Reevaluate who your target audience is... use resources other than Adsense (We have removed Adsense for Source Blogger, but are using it on other sites.)
Look up Commission Junction, LinkShare, and PepperJam if you are looking for advertising partners...
The options are endless... graphic ads, building your own text block ads, text ads, products...
I'm not sure what your blog topic is...you may want to become an eBay Partner or Amazon Affiliate...
There are hundreds of free resources out there...

always honest with everything you have write. Maybe someone think you are trying to cheat them but as long as you do the right thing. Everybody will be side with you. The right thing will be revealed. Straight to the point but it depend to you to make your own decesions -

I dont undertsand why nobody propose links and blogposts selling. If you carefully choose which article to post, you won't kill your blog and make a good ammount of money.
