I just don't seem to understand how some people manage their time efficiently, and they do it well. I know many that are studying for CFA, have a full-time job, and have extra time to hang-out normally. How do you balance work and your personal life?

I work on my personal life

In fact the more stuff I have on, the higher my output

I just space out at work and hide from Lumberg. Then I work on my TPS reports.

I have no idea how I balance anything. My life just seems to move at warp speed....and yet I seem to not ever really get much accomplished!

I agree. That's what my life is exactly like. So many things that I'm doing that I wonder if I'm accomplishing something for myself. Sometimes I think my life is just passing me by so quickly.

As long as you can still laugh, and you have at least some fond memories, I think you'll be just fine

      I agree Jack,

I use to think that might be possible, but its not.
In fact, Iv learned that things aren't always how they seem.
The fact is you tend to focus on the one that means the most to you.
So there is no real balance, that's BS, but then again, that's my own humble opinion. :)~

Work is personal if I'm doing it.

I hussle and juggle between being a mom, a professional and a woman with social life... I hope that if I would be in a relationship again it would get easier: sharing thoughts; vent; share tasks; running errands together... now I'm running from meetings to after school activities, the gym, pick up from soccer, ballet, play dates, doing the trash, cooking, writing and dating. Today I'm working from home as I'm abit under the weather...chicken soup anyone?

sure, that would be yummy! lols! you should be grateful you have tons of things to do, Ms. angryasiancookie:)

yap, in everything that we do, it always need work:) some things just need more attention than the others. I see work and personal life as one, coz work is love unseen:)

If you are self employed they kinda blend together. I know some people that just don't answer their calls after 5. I take business calls at all hours. It all comes down to preference.

I set my own work hours so often I'm working at 11pm because that's the best time to work that day. That way personal things get priority and work still gets done.

I go to school full time and work full time... what personal life?

I have abandoned much of my personal life for work. Then again it's not like i had much of a personal life to begin with.

I actually published an article about this in WAHMMagazine in January. When my daughter was very young and I was fairly new to freelancing I learned that I had to show my family the same respect I showed my clients. If I was on a call with a client, no one in the house interrupted unless it was an emergency--but if I was playing Candyland with my kid or watching a movie with my husband, I didn't stop to answer the phone.

i've recently been coerced to cope with balancing raising a baby alone and getting into the President's List for two semesters at the same time. it takes sleepless nights and a little less bumming and idle time- something i used to have. now i appreciate whatever time i can spend for myself, by myself. X3
