I am from Chicago and we have rules regarding Hot Dogs. Mustard (NO KETCHUP!!! Sacrilege), onions, celery salt, tomatoes, a pickle and maybe a hot pepper or two.
Where are you from and what do you eat on your hot dog?

Mustard, dill relish, and sauerkraut, but usually it's a bratwurst rather than a hot dog. I don't much care for regular hot dogs.

I make mine with mustard and hot peppers and a nice cold beer.
At Fenway, though, they sell Italian sausages with peppers and onions that are to DIE for! Man, I miss those.
This thread makes me long for baseball season. -
I like my Fenway franks with mustard. I also like a few onions sprinkled on but NO ketchup! Ketchup is just wrong.
Oh, I'm from San Francisco, mostly. -
In celebration of National Necroposting Day! I wanted to bump this thread back to the first page.
A typical Hot Dog in my home town, Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico has:]
Winner wrapped with bacon (some places also offer these filled with cheese)
Mayo
Mustard
Ketchup
Pickles
Tomatoes
Onion (raw)
Up to here everything looks normal, I shall continue...
Lettuce
Avocado dip (avocados blended with water)
Melted american cheese
Non-melted american cheese
Fresh cheese (white cheese)
Jalapenos
Mushrooms
Chorizo
Beans
Salsa bandera (pico de gallo)
Caramelized onions
More bacon, chopped
And you should always ask for a side of fries and a chile guerito toreado (grilled yellow pepper) that can also be filled with cheese and wrapped with bacon. -
Ketchup, Ketchup and more ketchup. I drench the dog in it, and when I've had enough of that, I put on some Catsup!

We had a Grey's Papaya Hot Dog in NYC. Supposedly this is a very famous and great hotdog.
It was bad! Nothing special to it all!
The absolute WORST hotdog anywhere is any hotdog you get in Australia.
I have NO idea what they do to them but I couldn't even choke down a bite, I had to spit it out. Really horrible

A popular Swedish junk food consists of two hot dogs wrapped in a soft thin bread roll with a dollop of mashed potatoes, creamy shrimp salad, ketchup, mustard, onion, pickled cucumber and lettuce.

I completely agree on the no ketchup--ketchup belong on hamburgers, not on hotdogs.
I like my hotdogs with deli mustard (spicy) and onions. Sometimes I like sauerkraut on them too. Every time I go to the ballgame, I get a Fenway Frank!
Still, I'm getting dizzy with all your hairdo changes!-
Yes! That would be so cool! All the cool kids are doing it!

I soak it with ketchup. So much ketchup that it should really be called ketchup on a bun, with a side of hot dog.

I do NOT eat hotdogs or sausages or processed meats frequently and usually not at all. I'm on an anti-inflammtory diet and all processed meats like hot dogs and sausages should absolutely be avoided due to the nitrates.
