Contact fellow blogger within same type, you can ask them for link exchange or anything else. But you should consider your if your blog has value for them, make your blog post value and link to them when you find something nice.

Use 30-90 minutes to read their articles, and choose the best of the best. They'll do the same too if you do the same. By all means, blog means expressing ourselves and building relationship with blogger and fellow readers.

If you only want to have the high PR, you can easily get it. Tell me and I'll call the Google Headquarter to give you PR 10.

      PR10. Has it any value?

I generate backlinks by making good content. Online users tend to link your blog/site up when you provide good information that are helpful to them. In return you get a lot of link backs. But still you need some optimization in order to be visible on search engines. That's the best way to be recognized and of course the best way of promoting your blogs/sites.

How do you get good optimization
      I'm new to this

People link to your blogs over time. After 5 years you should have much more traffic and links coming in.

The best tip is to just keep writing good content so people will want to brag about your blog.

As you develop your blog you will find that people start linking to it without your knowledge. when someone likes your blog and thinks it is valuable for their readers they will link to you

Word of mouth also will help. How many times did you email friends saying I found this cool website since you had the Internet?
    1. Friday13
0 times. But I do have my homepage and blog as my e-mail signature.

    Thanks everybody.
So the bottomline is, workk hard, add value (good content), be active on forums, leave good commnets, make friends and backlink will develop.

Why I asked this question in the first place was that recently "website grader" analysed my site and I was surprised to see I have 400+ backlinks.
I never (intentionally) did anything to generate backlinks.

Anyhow, will take it as a bonus.

    Thanks for input everybody.

for a new blog, how long does it usually take for people to notice your blog assuming it has good content?
    1. IbneAdam
My blog is 4 month, 10 days old. Has about 35 posts.

How early people start noticing your blog depends how you spread the word + contents. Posting in forums (like we are doing now) is a great way of getting noticed.

I started my personal blog and made my first post on Sept 18, 2008. Just one month ago. I added it here on BC just yesterday. I already have 609 backlinks (inbound). Pretty cool! When I first ran Website Grader a few weeks ago I received a grade of 34. Yesterday, when I ran Website Grader I have increased my grade to 52!

Join blog carnivals, group writing projects or sponsor a blog contest. If you have web designing skills, create a free Wordpress or Blogger theme and market it like crazy.

As an SEO Specialist getting quality links to your site from related resources is not always as easy as some make it sound. The key word here is ‘quality’. Link building requires dedication and consistent effort. It is the most difficult, time-consuming and important task to get a website ranked well. Most websites are not natural link magnets, and link acquisition can be frustrating.

For top rankings, it is essential to take the time and get many inbound links.

Here are my list of techniques on how to generate baclinks on your blog.

Submit Daily Blog to Social Bookmarks
The exact keyword string that you identify for you blog's title will be used in each submission. Change up the description for each submission.

    Have Links from Directories
Identify the keyword string that you want your index page to rank for and use it in the title of your submissions. Also, only do a couple of submissions each day.

Post Comments on Blogs with Do-Follow
Do-Follow simply means that a link on a page is valued by the Google Gods. Be sure to post a good comment and use the keyword string that you are focusing on as your name.

Use Signatures in Forums with Do-Follow
Focus your signature around the main keyword string for your home page. Try to be the first response to new posts and participate on long discussion threads that will consistently be pushed to the top of the main discussion page.

    Use Free Classified Ads
This is an easy way to get a little push and some customers at the same time.

Shalt Create and Submit RSS Feeds

This is where I got my backlinks.
It Increase google page and search engine rankings.
Drive more Traffic and get index quicker.
