There are so many different ways to make money online with a blog. Considering the number of ways can become overwhelming. With that said though, I am curious, "How do you make money online with your blog?"
Consider this, I am NOT asking "How Much Money," I'd just like to see what is working for you and what isn't. Every dollar that you make is a little piece of success.

Alot of people go adsense, alot more go affiliate marketing. Some do project wonderful etc. I do all three.
-
-
-
ahha, i am a newbie but what is Project Wonderful and TLA?
i also checked your blog dratiffarid.today.com, that is a sweet tag cloud... how do i do that?!
anyway, check out mine if you have time - onehalfjournal.blogspot.com-
Oh I see. It is a Today.com blog. Yeah, I hear a lot of good stuff about that.
-
@wambtm Project Wonderful encourages people to bid to advertise on your blog, you set the minimum amount you want per day and the advertisers decide whether they want to pay it. Unlike AdSense it's not pay per click (PPC) and unlike Commission Junction it's not based on making sales. It's more like traditional advertising on TV or in newspapers. The idea is that if you get lots of exposure on your blog, people will pay more to appear there. You can also advertise on other people's blogs / websites etc. I use it.
I think TLA stands for Text Link Advertising. You add code from a provider and then relevant words in your content turn into links to advertisers. I think it's PPC, but as I said I don't use it, because people click on words in my blog to find the definition of the word.
I hope this helps.

I make money online with adsense and join amazon.com affiliate, but it just earning small amount of money...
-
-
-
First off, you are not stupid.
TLA stands for Text-Link-Ads you can visit them at www.text-link-ads.com. They are a company that pays publishers to provide space on their site where they can broker and list links on your site. I must say, services like this go against Google and can get you banned, penalized and or simply deranked from their search engine. Use at your own risk.

That is ok if you don't make money with your blog. There is a whole world outside from the small group of people who focus on making money online. In many ways, most bloggers who don't worry about money have much more fun and have many more friends.
-
In terms of advertising:
I have some adsense ads on all of my sites, had some Comission Junction ads on one site for a short time, and have Amazon links purely for easy product identification (and ordering for those so inclined) of items review on another site.
In terms of making money:
I would just be happy if I ever made back my hosting fee.

hi,
i make it with chitika. i think its better than adsense but widgetbucks is also great. try my blog

Can I get money from my blog? uniquetvcomm.blogspot.com give me some advice?
-
Hi izmild,
You need to write content on your posts rather than just include ONLY a YouTube video. The content will enable you to start to generate more traffic from search engines such as Google.
In terms of effectively monetizing your site using Google AdSense, I would suggest moving your 300x250 AdSense unit from the sidebar and placing it directly under your post title.
But again... you totally need some nice written content. Which shouldn't be very hard for you at all. You have a nice blog and have found some killer TV commercials. Now you just need to go back and edit your posts to include a nice description. Approx 100 words would be fine!
-
-
Hi Garry,
Thanks for your advice. Yes you're right, Placement and contents are still my lacks. Actually why I don't write for contents or descriptions because of my target. I have to post until the end of this year about 1000 commercials (could I...?). But your advice realizing me that people also needs contents or informations. You know what I just think before that this blog is for people who just watching and enjoy the commercial...-
1000 commercials. That is just a number. You should set a personal goal to edit 5 posts per day. Again, these are television commercials that you enjoy and love, so writing just 100 words or two paragraphs of content about each commercial should come easy. If you edit 5 posts a day you will be done after 200 days. During that time, you will see that your blog starts to become more healthy.
In your content, ask open ended questions which will encourage readers to submit their own opinions in the comments. When readers submit their own comments, they "Add To" the content on these pages and in return make them even "More Valuable."
Ideally though, you really might want to consider getting a domain name and getting self-hosted WordPress installed.
A domain name has an average cost of around $10 dollars per year. Web hosting as an average monthly cost of around $10 dollars per month. Today you can see how very affordable it is to run and maintain a very entertaining, fun and professional blog. The sky is the limit for you Izmind and I will you well to the success of your journey.
You have found my blog which is great. My previously written content will greatly help you.

Good morning! Do you think my site is suitable? And, if so, what are your top 2 suggestions for getting started. Thank you for your time.
madmadmargo.blogspot.com-
Your blog is beautiful! Wonderful, wonderful job! The design is perfect. The colors are perfect. You have tons of great posts and good content. You are using widgets on your sidebar from BlogCatalog.com and when people visit your blog they have a "sense" of your blog as being "popular" and "active."
I see that you have the Google AdSense 160x600 at the very bottom of your page on the sidebar. My guess is that no one sees this. It is the very last thing people see on the page.
You have a choices to make. If making money with Google AdSense is important to you, then you need to make the Google AdSense one of the first things that people see when they visit your blog.
Also, if you have a lot of regular readers, or readers who know what Google AdSense is, they will not click on the ads because they are used to seeing them.
However, if you have a lot of search engine traffic, you will see that these people are very likely to click your Google AdSense ads because they come from the search engines looking for something specific, and your ads will generate advertisements that match what they are looking for. I would recommend using the 300x250 and put it directly below your post titles.
Also, you should install the Google Analytics code so you can monitor how you are getting traffic and from where. If you are getting search engine traffic, Google Analytics will tell you which keywords people type into the search bar to find your blog. From there you can take this list of keywords and build on them. Write more blog posts that target similar keywords that are working strong for your blog.
-
-
-
Ok I see that you have added the Link Units, that is ok? But my thoughts were to add a 300x250 directly below the post title. You have a 300x250 in the sidebar, most people are not going to click that because it is out of their "Line of Sight."
Secondly, you have a 160x600 at the bottom right side of your blog in the sidebar, in my opinion, that is one of the worst places you can put AdSense.
Blog Post Title
Insert Google AdSense Code
Your article content goes here. This would include about 100 words of text and then below your text would include the YouTube embed video code
Tagging, or, in, your, case, labels, go, here

It's a very valuable conversation to me. You give me motivation and also the solution. It's 12.10 am in my country, I 'll keep in mind to keep going "profesional Blog!!!" Thanks...

I just created my blog and it's one day old now. I hope to earn online income and become a full-time blogger. It's a great way to express myself in this complicated world.
I just recently joined CashCrate and I've earned my first $0.25cents by taking part in signing up for free at another website.
I also have placed adsense, CJ, amazon and CB affiliates. What do you think?

Ybol,
After visiting your blog I think that you have great skills with building and setting up blogs and making them look very professional. My advice to you would be to choose topics that you can rank for in Google. You have currently chosen a niche topic that is very competitive in Google and it will take you a TON of energy, effort and time to get the rankings that you need for this blog to be ultimately successful.
You have the knowledge of the programs that make money, you have the skills to make content, you have the ability to build wonderful looking blogs. You are in better shape than most people just starting out. You are VERY close to making money online. Choose topics that you can dominate in Google.
-
-
this thread is one of the best really.. for the first time i see people talking non-fluff especially when it comes to make-money topics.
garryconn you actually made me make the decisions i was too lazy to make lol.. everyday i want to add the stunningly important blogcatalog widget and i just say "let's make it 2omorrow then" ..same thing went with google analytics i always get distracted and ignore it while it's too dam*n important. but you know what garry, my only problem now is that i made 4 new blogs and put some good content in'em but still didn't get indexed.. and trust me i hate to wait.. my only compensation is that this delay may give me more time to fill them with more and more content.. do you think there would be a faster way to get indexed ? i did everything.. submitted blog, sitemap and submitted to high pageranking social bookmarking site.. one post got detected but i will NOT relay on submitting every post to SB sites all day long.. tell me what you think. by the way i wanna put a link to your site if you don't mind -
Hello
I just started my blog, so it is too early to talk about income
Please have a look at it and tell me what do you think? Would love to hear any advice from you. Thank you in advance! richclubgirl.com-
Very pretty and attractive blog. I love the theme you have chosen and really enjoy the soft blue colors you are using. It is very pleasing. Brian Gardner makes wonderful themes so you should be very proud and happy with your work.
Now, with your blog when I load it for the first time, I can only guess what it is about. My perception is that the blog is run be a particular and high maintenance lady who likes expensive things. Whether that is true or not, that is my perception. To help your visitors learn more about you and the purpose of your blog, you need to create an "About Me" page so that there is no mystery to your blog.
When people visit your blog, you have a matter of a few moments to capture their attention before they leave. You need to consider what the first impression will be when people visit your blog.
Now as far as monetization goes, it appears that you want to do well with Google AdSense. One of the common failures using Google AdSense is the positioning of the ads and the size of the ads.
In your case, You are displaying a 468x60 at the bottom of each post just above the comments section and then you are displaying a 300x250 on the right sidebar. These are not optimal positions for your AdSense ads.
In a blog, you have to come to understand that in order to make money online with Google Adsense, you have to throw your traffic away TO Google AdSense. The best way to do that is by putting the Google Adsense in a position where it is the FIRST THING someone sees when they visit your blog. With that said, I would move your AdSense code and put a 300x250 directly below your posts titles on the individual post pages (commonly called the single.php file). WIth that said, I would then add a second 300x250 in place of the 468x60. Statistics have shown me that 468x60 doesn't produce good money for clicks where the 300x350 does. Lastly, I would remove the 300x250 in the sidebar and put nothing in its place.
Let's talk about traffic. Right now your post titles are not optimized for scoring search engine traffic. When you write your blog post, you need to do it in a way that mimics what people search for in Google. Also though, you need to have balance. You will never rank #1 in Google for the word "Pepsi". However, you can rank #1 in Google for the phrase, "My Can of Pepsi Exploded."
You need to educate yourself with how you write your post titles and then your content needs to compliment your post titles by using matching keyword phrases and or relevant words related to the keywords within your topic.
To be honest, I would strongly recommend visiting my blog (www.garryconn.com). I have been covering these topics for over two years and have over 1000 articles that you can read to learn more about this. Good luck and if you have questions, feel free to ask.

Hello Garry, I started blogging a few months ago on blogger. I recently created my own web site and installed word press to try to keep my site more manageable for people viewing it, and have more control over my content.
This brings me to the topic of making money online; I am slowly moving my post out of blogger to word press. With the hopes of getting better quality adds on my site that fit the content since ad words seems to be useless with the same ads everywhere.
I would appreciate any feedback since im clueless as to if im going in the right direction?

I have been keeping my online earnings and costs on a google spreadsheet ... HART-Empire.com .. My biggest earner is TLA ..
-
KiefersCorner i think you are making a huge mistake ignoring the power of blogger blogs.. Google LOVES them..actually google is the owner of blogger.com
so whatever you do through your blogspot blog, you rank higher for it than your simile wordpress or any .com sites. that's the shocking fact.-
@evillo
Google LOVES them ... actually google is the owner of blogger.com so whatever you do through your blogspot blog, you rank higher for it than your simile wordpress or any .com sites. that's the shocking fact.
Google does own Blogger but that's the only fact in what you say above. Facts can be verified so please post the links to the source(s) that have led you to make this statement ... "so whatever you do through your blogspot blog, you rank higher for it than your simile wordpress or any .com sites. that's the shocking fact."
After you do share you source(s) I may choose to give you links to Matt Cutts of Google stating this is a pernicious rumor, which is absolutely untrue. -
I am sorry evillo, but I have to politely disagree with that. I used to use Blogger.com quite a bit prior to building my own self-hosted WordPress blogs and indeed, they did ok; however, you have much more control over SEO when you use WordPress.
-
i don't have to provide sources timestealer.. i tell what i see !
and yes *again* blogger is the best search engine friendly blog-
@evillo
The fact is that I know that you can't provide any authoritative sources for you statement because they do not exist. You are spreading a rumor based on narrow anecdotal observation.
I can see that you have continued to post below this comment and that you have taken on a rude tone. I have no vested interest in either wordpress or Blogger or for that matter in tumblr, although I do have blogs on all 3 platforms. -
evillo,
I am a full time professional blogger who owns and maintains well over 200 very well performing self-hosted WordPress blogs that each target search engine traffic based off very well researched keywords. The ultimate success of my business depends on my ability to rank in Google (as well as other search engines) and target traffic that will click on ads and or purchase products that I review in order to make money online. This level of success would be greatly reduced if I had decided to run my entire fleet of niche blogs on the Blogger.com platform.
I am sorry to tell you, but you are so very wrong with your thoughts on this. But, I do respect that you have an opinion and stick to your guns on it. It shows that you are a strong person who stands behind what you believe in. My suggestion to you would be to invest time into searching some more about search engine marketing and optimization.
-
-
although this can't be a proof at this moment.. but here is one recent shocking result of many others i have seen that made me more than a believer.
"best selling dvds" this keyword-phrase has amazon the first ranked for months.. then suddenly.. a blogspot with no pagerank, i mean NO page rank : N/A .. 2 NEW pages only. has ranked higher for posting his FIRST two posts titled : best selling dvds that included product links to AMAZON itself ! beat that..and stayed ABOVE amazon in rank for days until some huge site came and take the position back.
I swear
-
listen timerstealer.. honey i'm not google's owner or i wouldn't even be here to chitchat lol.. neither trying to spread anything because actually i'm a guy of what you see is what you get.. oh let's add "is what you tell"
LOL! so if you are a wordpress member or whatever makes you feel my talks kills the competition so i'm sorry.. but then you gonna have to be sorry too because you still not good enough to render what google did.
that was harsh but still prominently true! -
ok you don't have vested interest i like that .. then leave the thing to those who tested it and no need to judge them just because they did not get you a source.. in case you don't know : %99 of internet information is based on experience.. not sources
normal programmers DID follow copywrited books.. but successful ones did experience a lot more..
see you later. -
lucky i'm 27 then lol.. thanks for visitng my modest 190 pages blog
.. probably i can hire you to fix those 545656 errors for a decent price.. oh i forgot, i don't waste money on optimizing wordpress blogs because they still will mess up big time.. maybe contact you later for a worthy job then.
good luck-
Evillo,
I see that you have visited my blog, I appreciate that and maybe in time we can become friends. However, there are quite a few things that you really need to invest time into researching. I hear what you are saying about Blogger.com blogs vs self-hosted WordPress blogs and I respect your opinions regarding that.
However, if you are doing as well as you say you are doing with Blogger.com, then how come you are failing to rank in Google for your target keyword phrases on the four Blogger.com blogs you have provided me the URLs to from above? And secondly, how come you are asking me for advice, if you are already an expert?
student-loan-consolidation-rates-best.blogspot.com/
You do not rank top ten on the results page in Google for your campaign. That equals failure.
latest-news-us.blogspot.com/
I have no idea what you are trying to achieve here? This blog, in my opinion, is a complete waste of time, energy and effort.
latest-sports-news-today.blogspot.com/
Once again, same thing as the above. This is a very poor topic choice for site monetization with AdSense. It is a very competitive niche topic and one that pays very poorly according to AdWords reporting.
motorbike-insurance-quotes.blogspot.com/
Excellent niche topic, but unfortunately it is very competitive and one would have to do quite a bit of link building towards thrusting their page into ranking well in the SERPs.
These four sites you presented to me are failing in your objective. While that is ok, and I can help you with that, let's not kid around, you will have ultimately ZERO success doing what you are doing the way you are doing it. In less than 30 days, I could duplicate your same keyword campaign and not only out rank you, but profit from it very well.
If your goal is in simply having fun blogging, then these sites you presented to me are not failures; however, if your goal is to make money online, these four blogs simply don't make the cut. I am sorry. If you decide to have an open mind, there is much I can help you with.
Self-hosted WordPress by far is the key to any successful niche blog that targets selected keyword phrases for ranking in Google which then deliver amazing and extremely profitable traffic that makes money online.
-
-
-
Hi Kiefer,
First off, I must admire your health and conditioning at being 50 years young. Your blog / site is very clear on your objective.
"I hope the information here is helpful in your quest to a better body and overall health."
Within a few moments I was able to determine what your blog / site is about and how you can help me. Great job on that.
Secondly, you write a lot of excellent content on your blog. For the most part (again quick scan - sorry) it doesn't seem like you are actively trying to sell any type of diet products or services. From what I can tell, you are writing off the cuff about topics you enjoy. In my opinion, that is true blogging.
Now, I noticed that you use Google AdSense. I am sure that you'd like to collect a little reward off your efforts of writing just like many other people. And there is nothing wrong with that.
I would guess that your click conversions are very low compared to your typical daily traffic. Now with me, I am the type of person who looks at percentages. I don't care if your site gets 10 visits per day or 10,000 visits per day. In terms of effective monetization with Google AdSense, you need to have an acceptable click conversion goal. For me, I like to maintain around 10%
Upon reviewing your blog, my guess is that you are not reaching 10% click conversion, which means you are losing money off the traffic you are getting. We'll get back to that in just a second.
Next, I want to talk to you about your blog / web site design. I'll be honest with you, it is not very attractive. You are a very physically fit and healthy 50 year old individual and your blog / web site doesn't not reflect you as a person.
My advice to you would be to re-design your blog / site so that it is more professional looking and less armature looking. From there - going back to the AdSense Point From Above - I would strongly recommend utilizing a template design that allows you to effectively monetize your content using Google AdSense.
I understand that you are using Blogger.com, and by all means this is fine! However, if you really have an interest in stepping up the level of professionalism in your blog, you should purchase a domain name and you should migrate your existing content into a self-hosted WordPress blog.
Prior to making any sudden changes, you should really invest a few weekends towards learning more about self-hosted WordPress, basic SEO and other various material on the web about making the best use of Google AdSense.
You are more than welcome to visit my blog, this is all a topic that I write about on a regular basis. In the mean time, I wish you all the success with your blog and I think as determined as an individual you are, if you set a few goals for your blog and site, you'll do just fine.

Hi Garry,
We are a fairly new blog. 3 months old.
We just signed up for AdSense account and are under review.
Can you look at our blog and tell me is Adsense the best
option for us?
Thank you!!!
K-
oh I am sorry - www.chictip.com
Thank you! -
You have a nice blog and once you get approved for AdSense it will do well if you adapt a little bit in your writing style.
For instance, lets look at this post:
www.chictip.com/2008/11/22/picture-perfect-with-the-perfect-picture-wall-co...
On this post the title is, "Picture Perfect with The Perfect Picture Wall Company"
This post titles doesn't really describe what the post is about. Secondly, here is a copy of the blog content:
"We all have photographs or artwork that remain out of interior design rotation simply because we don't have the right utilities to hang them, or feel we lack the curator’s eye for placement.
Eliminate this fear and restore those images to delight your family, friends, and visitors. The system includes 10 frames and takes it a step further, ridding you of the hassle of creating a cohesive picture by providing you with a preview template that will ensure your art is properly placed and level every time. Not only will your whole collection will be visible, but all that can now be accomplished in no time."
This article doesn't make any sense. I don't know if you are talking about the company who provides products for hanging pictures or if you are recommending an individual product that the company provides.
The intention of this article is not clear. If people have trouble understanding what the message is that you are trying to communicate, then so will search engines.
"Eliminate the fear and restore those images to your delight"
Does this mean that the company can help me repair damaged photographs? Does this mean that the company can help me repair a hole in the wall I created when I tried to hang a picture?
Here is a better way to write your blog post:
Post Title: A Review of The Perfect Picturewall Series 1000
Post Content: Simply visit this page: www.thepicturewallcompany.com/whatisit.html and reword the content in your "Own Words." Describe what you see, describe what this system is called, what it does and why you feel like people should purchase it or NOT purchase it.
The great thing about Google AdSense is that you can give accurate opinions. If you don't like the Perfect Picturewall Series 1000, tell people! Tell people that this product is a piece of garbage and you would recommend something else.
It doesn't matter, because you are not trying to sell this product. Your goal is to write quality content that helps people decide on what they want to do. Secondly, by doing this, you will also generate very nice and relevant Google AdSense ads that people will be interested in clicking.
You need to work on your writing skills and use describing words and the names of the products and businesses you are writing about so people can find your content in Google.
Lastly, when you get approved for Google AdSense, you need to focus on your ad positioning. You need to make sure that the ads are in a position where people can see them.
-
Hey Garry,
Thanks for your encouragement and moral support! I agree with you that the topics I am posting are very competitive. My goal is to be a full-time blogger, maybe just like yourself. But not an expert in the competitive topics..haha..
I like to express myself by blogging. But finding a niche which does not have much competition is going to be a challenge for me.
Maybe I will find one but I really really want to be debt free by 2012. So much I need to write about my debts.
I have other hobbies. Like watches/watchmaking, surfing new cool websites, nutrition and recently I lost weight of 10kg! haha..
Again, Thank you Garry for your beliefs in my talents and skills. Keep in touch and do come back to witness and cheer me on while I work hard to get rid of my debts by 2012!

Hi Garry this is Nadeem, Friend I have my main blog in Hindi Language which doesn't allow adsense to provide ads that's why I have a decent and targeted readership but I am not able to make money from my blog which is www.kotuhal.blogspot.com/ and having Hindi language. Is there any possibility for me to get any amount with that blog? One more thing please tell me how to put adds just under the title?
-
आप अंग्रेज़ी को अपनी भाषा परिवर्तित करने की आवश्यकता है
Translation: You need to translate your content into English.
Look at this... if you have TWO blogs... a Hindi version and an English version, you can then copy your Hindi content and paste it into Google Translation Tool and the copy the English translated text and paste it into a SECOND blog. The second blog will be written in English and you can then monetize your content.
Go here: translate.google.com/translate_t#

Garryconn i was seeking your advice to get indexed (fast) in google because the whole four blogs are brand (new) .. i did not seek your assistance for them to be ranked or what so ever.. yet, if i need your help in such matter i wouldn't be ashamed either because the more we learn the more we get lucky right ?!
The thing you guys is , i know as you know that blogger makes you almost have no control over your blog.. but guess what! that's the fruit itself..search engines doesn't need your perfect design, your many plugins or even your own optimized markup pages.. blogger have it all setup for you cutting out the fluff that a crawler bot would pass by.. my (indexed already) self hosted wordpress blog is nice i got ranks in some keyword-phrase and they get me people from time to another..but..guys i have seen it.. blogspot blogs makes money !!!!! i can't stress enough on that.. they are soooo search engine friendly because (simply) they are simple .. you don't have much control because it's all done for you.. i know some guys who make more than $1000 a month with a free blogger platform and that's not a coincidence and they're not that genius. i didn't waste my time on making four new blogs JUST because i (thought) it's better .. absolutely not.. i've tested.. and believe me garry when it comes to research i'm one of many people who spend much more time on researching and testing.
love this discussion
-
evillo,
My business doesn't involve luck. I am a super huge control freak and I make my own LUCK. Everything I do is planned and my ranking in search engines are planned and predicted.
As you say, you didn't come to me for advice with ranking, you came to me with advice on indexing. Yet, all your content is indexed.
Who cares about indexing... it is harder to prevent your content from indexing in Google than getting indexed.
The problem at hand is your content this is indexed, isn't ranking for the keywords you are targeting, and yet you tell me that Blogger.com is the better blogging platform while in actuality it is not.
Granted, there are hundreds if not thousands of people who can not afford to pay for web hosting and pay for a domain name. With that said, Blogger.com is an excellent place to start a blog. It does perform to a standard level. However, they are not, as you call them, "sooooo search engine friendly" because they are simple in design.
You said, "I've tested.. and believe me Garry when it comes to research I'm one of many people who spend much more time on researching and testing."
My response to that is this: If you have done so much research, then how come your content is failing to rank for the keyword phrases you are targeting? If you don't rank in the SERPs you don't get traffic, if you don't get traffic, you don't get clicks and if you don't get clicks, you don't make money.
I too find the discussion to be entertaining.

-
about the two blogs (latest news and latest sports news) Garry did you say they are useless ?
did you know that if you got your blog indexed and provided one HOT topic for NFL you can get more than 5000 visitors on one night ?! i'll get you an article about the killer news hunting profit maybe you'll find it interesting.-
Evillo,
I am more focused on the longevity of passive income that is generated from my blogs rather than burst fire one time only traffic that doesn't convert into clicks driven from writing about things that appear in Google Hot Trends or various news sources.
Thanks for the offer on the article, but I'll pass. Honestly, I am very pleased with my operation and the income generated from my business.

Hi Garry,
You said a few times ago:
" Blog Post Title
Insert Google AdSense Code
Your article content goes here. This would include about 100 words of text and then below your text would include the YouTube embed video code
Tagging, or, in, your, case, labels, go, here"
And.... I try to create as what you suggest for recently post title "brazillian press association: Comma". Would you visit my blog just a seconds to see. Is that what you mean. I did it because I trust you as a profesional blogger got much experiences and analysis. Thanks -
@Garry
I must say that I admire your input in this thread. You have spent a lot of time replying to each and every blogger. Bravo.
If I may, could I ask you how I could better optimize my blog in order to increase my earnings from 50cents to a day, to say $1/dollar a day. That would be a dream, to reach the dizzy heights of $1/dollar. Just think in 2740 years I'll be a millionaire :-)
Anyway, here is my blog solreka.com/blog
What am I doing wrong when it comes to ad revenue!
Many thanks for your time.
Cheers -
Thank you for taking the time to hand out advice, Garry! It's so great to have this resource.
Would you mind taking a look at my blog? It's just over a month old, and I've made about 83 cents from my google ads so far, lol. I'm actually pretty pleased that I've made *anything*, but I'd love some advice about how to improve. I'm thinking about trying some affiliate marketing like Amazon, or possibly selling ad space...but I'm only getting between 50-100 hits per day on my site, so I'm not sure if they would accept me.
The blog's at www.annstorer.com. Thank you, again, so much!

Great MrCheeseburger you might even make money without intending to after all because content might bring money in a way or another so you're a winner on both sides.. when i first started blogging a web hosting company E-Mailed me and asked for a portion to its site's link.. $15 dollar per 2 months wasn't bad for someone who didn't even look for profit back then.
Garry thanks for your exciting response buddy . there's something i couldn't get though.. are they really indexed ? on google ? because i don't see the urls when i search them..i only find them as on blogcatalog actually on this exact topic because i posted them for you and google indexed this discussion. So correct me if i'm wrong but check this out :
"http://latest-news-us.blogspot.com" that's one of them ..type this with the qiotes and you will NOT find the blog (itself) appearing.. that's why i am not ranking in any keywords here ..because google crawler doesn't know my content. he only have read my URL name in blogcatalog once..you are judging a 4 or 5 days old blog
and remember that google adsense crawler is different from the search bot.. if you know that already, then i'm sorry didn't mean to under-estimate your knowledge.
to erase any confusion here.. my main blog is a self hosted wordpress blog.. i have been working with it months now and it's easy to use i can't deny.. i wouldn't tell anybody to quit on that type of blogs as it's kind of elegant.. but what wordpress can do at the end today..blogspot can do in a few hours. also to erase any more confusion .. i see you are repeating that i mentioned i'm an expert or something like that.. did i say so ? because if my words gave you this impressions, No i am not.. an expert is someone who have been for a quite period of time studying and implementing until he got the best results..i can categorize myself under : someone who kept testing other attitudes and mistakes and compared them to many other acts until realized what's number 1 and what lies next in rank. so when i say something don't take it as if i'm saying "hey,guys..you're wrong and i'm mister super here" .. Nop.
like i told the lady above , "what i see is what i tell".
It's good to hear that you focus on long term passive income really. that's what gurus do. but did i mention google hot trends here ? i didn't.. because the sky is the limit in this option. to mention some but not all.. yahoo buzz.. press release..ESPN.. social bookmarking trends ..google alerts and many many more that takes a whole separate post to categorize and explain..and if you don't know that most news blogs/sites are crazily successful then you must have never researched this. but it's okay maybe you were too busy setting up your own long term profit niche and i would never blame you about that.. everyone has to pick what's best for him anyway.

Hi Garry,
I am new to blogging and at this time I'm not really in it to make money, but will want to sometime. I have a very specific target as you will see. I will appreciate any comments and suggestions you may have. Will I be able to make money with this kind of blog?
Thanks for your time!

Hi Garry,
Thank you visited too see adsense's placement on my blog post. I will put that new format of adsense on each post of homepage. it means each post should be put adsense size 336 X 250 under post title and a link ad under video post. Is it right?
What you saw just for experiment and let you know if it was right as you suggested before. GBU -

how much do you make from your collection of 200 blogs? I started a lot of my other blogs because i figured that i believe in simple math. If i was making 200 dollars a month with blog A, i figured that i would set up blog b, c, d, etc and end up doubling and etc my income. But, it isn't as easy as it sound. Blogging is so time consuming.
What type of blogs do you set up, and not including the income from you main blog, what type of income do you mini sites make?-

I use blogger along side adsense, I always have and it provides me with a nice supplemtary income. I have just posted 6 tutorials at how-2-makemoneyonline.blogspot.com explaining exactly how I do it.
There is no better platform for SEO work than blogger in my opinion : ) -
just wondering..if u make money by blogging?can you also lose money?as like you owe the company that is suppose to pay you money

Adding useful content that the end user can use. Also using streams like adsense.. But you will make more money with your blog if you the actual blog to brand you... Doing reviews is another way to make cash with your blog..
I would focus on getting a good ranking for your chosen keywords then try and monetize the blog afterward.. -
Hello Gary,
Is there any way you could take a look at my blog and give some advise on how to monetize it better?
Thank you sir!

Affiliate Programs are the way to go IMO I use sites like Commission Junction which allow you to sign up for several affiliate programs at once. Check out my BC group that has to do with affiliate programs, it's a bit stagnate ATM but ask me some questions and I'll respond ASAP. www.blogcatalog.com/group/find-me-an-affiliate

Making money online with your blog is difficult to say the least.
Darren at pro-blogger wrote an interesting article about how to pull in advertisers to your blog. However...
On the post they talk about pulling in traffic of 30,000 visitors a month min, with a good Page Rank of say 4.
Please note that very few bloggers actually achieve these kinds of stats. The likes of problogger, johncow, johnchow et al all profess how easy it is to reach - pah.
Don't be fooled by these statements from the 'pros'. It is all part of the carrot on the end of a stick mindset. Let us, the little people believe we too can earn a zillion dollars a day from blooging just like they do.
The real truth is the simple fact that you need to focus on writing good quality content for your blog, and not get caught up in the BS of earning your millions from blogging, it's an over-saturated market now. The blog bubble has been and gone.
I earn on average $1/day from my blog. I am not ashamed to admit it either. This figure does me no justice considering the amount of time and effort I put into my blog - solreka.com/blog. I keep asking my self the question... Why bother. The truth is, I enjoy it, I like learning new things and sharing my findings with my readers.
So in closing do not worry too much about the money aspect of blogging, and write content for your blog with the same passion and love a child would do when opening a Christams present for the first time.
Regards
Sol -
