    I have been reading about driving traffic and most places say that you need to comment on other blogs. I tried this on msn message boards and it started to drive traffic until they banned me. So don't do it on message boards!

    Try it. Click on my blog,leave a comment and then I'll go to your blog and do the same. Maybe we can get some cross traffic going.

    Good content is the most important thing - even if you can attract people you need to keep them coming back.
    Blog Catalog is really helping me - I love this community.

      There are no shortcuts when it comes to securing a healthy flow of organic traffic to your site and creating a blog centered community. How to form blog centered relationships onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2009/02/05/how-to-form-blog-centered-relationship...

      In blogging content is king and marketing is queen. If you write high quality original content and promote it then the result may be an increase in organic traffic, or not. If it’s not easy to locate your content in search engines then there will be no increase in new traffic. Thus, what determines success is two things:
      * whether or not your content is found, and
      * whether or not the readers who do find it become subscribers.

      What you need is expertise in a specific niche and you also need to know how to:
      * be a skillful blogger;
      * create an archive full of high quality original content;
      * structure a search engine optimized blog;
      * promote your blog via social networks and other means;
      * establish and maintain a faithful and growing readership (organic traffic).

      It is Mutual Cooperation if your site is not ranked good position in google. Do this,may be it works. Put some widgets of recent Visitors like given by Blogcatalog,also by mybloglog in your site or blog.When some one visit your blog his photo appear in that widget do the same for you visit blogs which have same widget. Don't forget to put Google Follower in your blog if you are blogspot user. Follow those blogs which have contents likes yours it will attract traffic, when visitor not find required material on that blog he will compel to follow some other links. Also request links exchange with related blogs,Join My Groups make for this purpose.But read Conditions before Joining. discussionportal.blogspot.com, free-for-desktop.blogspot.com.

          The last 4 Google PageRank updates have made it abundantly clear that entering link exchanges ie. reciprocal linking is NOT necessarily beneficial to your blog.

          Quality reciprocal link exchanges with related blogs in and of themselves are not a bad thing, but most reciprocal link offers are of low quality and are to unrelated sites. If too many of your links are of low quality it may make it harder for your site to rank for relevant queries, and some search engines may look at inbound link and outbound link ratios, as well as, link quality when determining how natural a site’s link profile is.

          The best linking strategy is to get a lot of non-reciprocal links (or one-way backlinks), to your posts which are also relevant links to your site from high ranking and popular sites. When your site receives a lot of quality non-reciprocal links, the search engines consider your site and the web pages that receive these inbound quality links as containing highly valuable web content.

          Search engine criteria for quality inbound links has become increasingly tougher due to unscrupulous webmasters trying to achieve incoming links by deceptive techniques, like hidden links, or automatically generated pages designed solely to provide incoming links to websites. These pages are called link farms; they are disregarded by search engines, and linking to a link farm can result in your site being banned entirely.

          There's a helpful tool you can use to insure you aren't linking to a bad neighborhood blog. By using the tool you can avoid linking to link farms, gambling sites, drug peddling sites and flesh peddling sites as well as other undesirable sites. www.bad-neighborhood.com/text-link-tool.htm

        Thanks for the Great Tips timethief, I comment here for Getting Traffic for Blogs not to get rank in goggle search engine. Its true what you said. People who think they can get higher page rank with link Exchange are wrong. Thanks again

        You're welcome. I didn't get into it above but not all traffic is valuable. On one hand, a flood of indiscriminate traffic (one hit wonders) creates a high bounce rate and does not benefit a blog. On the other, targeted traffic that translates into faithful readers is valuable.
