   lots of things.. that others are going to fill in here.. takes a lot of time. You have to have a good site to begin with.. do you have that? If you do, then you have to get your blog listed in as many places as you can..there are a lot of steps, the more you do, the more traffic you'll get. Takes a lot of time and you have to persevere.
   
   Producing traffic has not been a major goal of mine, but I know if it were, the people here would tell me exactly what to do.

   Engage in conversations in a meaningful way without dropping your link as a signature. (Your avatar functions as that.) Don't dig up old conversations just so you can drop your link, as I've seen you do once today.

   I agree that you shouldn't drop links to your site your avitar does that for you but I think that I have to disagree with you Mark if the thread was relevant, I don't see the problem, if someone asked for something that was posted on someone's blog and wanted to get to the post quickly and easily . I'm new here and I haven't seen a tenth of the threads so there might be some interesting things I might want to bring back up for other newbies...

      I drop links all the time if they're relevant. I was talking about using it as a signature. The rules are clear on that.

   Look for some groups that interest you too. You can do that in two ways, either by using the directory or clicking avatars here and seeing what people belong too.
   
   Shameless blog promotion as a category works here to promote posts, but only if that's not all you're doing. And the shameless promotion should foster a conversation, not just be a click me kind of thing. You can get more of that from the top thread here on the boards.
