Someone once told me do what you love and you will have more peace then money can ever bring. While I appreciate the sentiment expressed, it isn’t necessarily as practical as I would like. My solution was to maintain a job that pays the bills and in my personal time try to find ways to make my passions a part of my earning power. I love photography so I opened an online store at Etsy to try to promote and sell my images. It’s a perfect compromise: the bills are paid, I spend the majority of my free time doing what I love, and at the end of the day maybe I will eventually make some extra money.

An above user said "do what you love." I 100% agree.
If this is going to sustain you for a long time it must come natural to you. You must be passionate about it. I wrote a blogpost called "Want to make money?" Read it, I give examples and go more in depth.
Love what you do, and then you can go as far as you want. You gotta commit, however, and you CAN'T expect it to be easy. However, depending on how much you are following the "do what you love rule", making money could be fun.
