  Well, it was MY answer, if that counts for anything.
  
  Apparently, it is difficult to start a discussion and not get a reply, even when there is no actual discussion.
  
  So, how's the weather there? Fair to partly cloudy here.

Depends on who you are. I've seen plenty of discussions with no responses. I think BlogCatalog is a big popularity contest.

It's not hard to start a BC forum discussion or a discussion on any other similar forum and get no replies, if and only if, you have invested no ego in the post.

It's only hard if you have passionate feelings and an immature need for immediate recognition. Or, if you are being cunning and/or creative by and trying to use clever wording to mask the fact that you actually have a hidden agenda for posting.

IMO the situation is analogous to submitting a blog comment and then not seeing it posted on the blog.

Every blog post that you publish may not attract commentators.
Every forum post you may not attract commentators.
Every comment you make on a blog post may not get published.

As the Eagles sang in their song: "Get over it!" Because that's what mature, self confident people do.

I started one on Marathons on the Boston Marathon day and nobody bothered to comment so I guess nobody runs marathons or have no interest in answering that discussion. No big deal.
