I'm great. I'm alone in a beautiful piece of the world. The flakey internet connection I have available in this rural retreat is firing well to satellite this morning, allowing me to check in with a few friends and family. Although early, the sun is ablaze and climbing heavy and hard into the sky. The heat outside my cabin is already palpable near the open windows. One of a few last hummingbirds of the season is hovering at the bird feeder out on the sundeck.

It will be another screeching hot day here on the West Coast, but like Timethief, I'm ready for it as well. I have the option of going across the road to an inlet beach with nobody on it and swimming in the cleanest sea water imaginable. I am a very lucky person.

Oh, and I must indeed be lucky! An email just arrived. It appears I've won a million dollars in the Yahoo Lottery... :-) Ah, this amusing world is truly a delight.

It's been a wonderful day -- I left my glasses in a street bench and I found it again an hour later. Right at this moment, though, I'm logging out --it's 7:30 PM Manila time as I write this -- to get some dinner. Huh? Rice and chicken curry, I guess.
