I spend approximately 4-6 hours everyday at the computer. But it's never continuous.
There's a new disease called 'Computer Vision Syndrome' which is being talked about.
You are diagnosed with it if you have headaches, eye strain, blurred vision etc. You usually get it if you spend more than 4 hours a day at the computer.

Bulk of my work in the office involves the use of computer. Today, I had to spend the whole eight hours pounding my keyboard reformatting the company's KPIs. I'm dead tired!

Wait.
There's a 'not in front of the computer'?
Wow. I probably should have heard about this sooner. -
Way too much time, but it is not my fault! It is the computer that decided to get in front of me and keep flashing stuff on the screen then pulling on my fingers to massage its keyboard. Once in a while it makes me feed it a disc or flash chip (kind of like ruffles without the dip).

Another tip, is that when you are taking a break to give your eyes a rest by focusing them on objects that are that a good distance away.
Personally I spend WAAYY too much time staring a screen for it to be good for my eyes, but between work and college I don't have too much of a choice. Plus now I've got a blog, lol -
