don't forget I visit too, if I visit twice is that counted as 2 or does the second visit mean the firstone is cancelled, but if I'm in another time zone is my first visit counted as the day before or is the second visit counted as the next day. Please help. -

This is an old thread that has been resurrected. There's a lot of resurrection of old threads happening these days. Some members appear to be so bored that they are dragging out meaningless posts like this "how many hits" one and cluttering the front page of the forum with them. Currently there are 2 of these on the front page. That's not to mention the link drop "show me your blog" ones, and the link exchanges ones even though both of those are NOT allowed. -

My thrift decorating blog typically gets around 300-400 a day, except this last month I think a lot of my readers are gardening or outdoors instead. As things are ranging a little lower.

It takes a long time. You need people linking to you. That draws traffic from them besides just google search traffic. The only way I found out that people link to you really is if you have a great blog. So you need a lot of posts and keep writing.
All it takes is someone with 10,000 hits a day on their blog to link to you and your set. -

Weekly is about 1000 - 3 yrs old. I have a very loyal fan-base and that's what really matters to me.

Mine varies quite a bit. I seem to never go below 200 anymore and now I am getting up over 400 page views every few days.
The blog is less than 60 days old. I'm still finding my voice. I actually changed what the blog is about. Two weeks into it I decided what I wanted to do was not going to work. For some odd reason most of the people that were reading the blog didn't seem to care that it completly changed.
I guess nobody cared that Amanda shot and killed two would be assailants in a shopping mall parking lot located in downtown San Diego. Sounded good at the time.... -
Blog is 2 weeks old. I had a previous blog, but moved it out of wordpress. Average reader is 18-25. Site traffic has gotten above 80+ uniques in the last 3 days. Is that good?-

Mine is about a year and a half old, and I'm getting 250-350 hits a day.
I write a sex blog, and the hits were rising fast (one day I got over a thousand!) but then I got a boyfriend and started a long distance relationship (much less sex to write about) and my hits stopped growing.

Right now, my hits are dropping again. I've had a few problems with outages lately on social networking sites. Right now, I am at 134 hits a day. A few days ago, I was at 160. I don't know why it goes in down cycles. I was trying to figure out how to increase traffic. -

yes it is totally true, I published an article that was a hit on the social sites. However, when you get that much traffic that fast, it usually is not as valuable of traffic, most of the vistors came in left in seconds, but my RSS subscribers trippled in about a week.

I just installed a stat plugin yesterday and got 14 visitors but that was later in the day. Today it was around 25 this morning, no idea how much it will be at the end of the day but I'm happy with that for now. My blog is only a month old.-

When I post a new blog it's usually 300-500 per day for the first couple of days, then it falls back to 10-40 per day...but I usually make sure I Digg it etc as soon as it's up and posted and that makes a huge difference.
Best time ever was the Stephen Armstrong Story which was generating 1000-1500 uniques per day.

Yes AWstats that I use on Blue Host my web host comes up with significantly different numbers than Google Analytics does.
One thing to keep in mind is the quality of the visitors. Stumble Upon has been useless to me as the visitors have a high bounce rate and very low time on the site. Blog Catalog has been one of the better references for me. Readers from here tend to stay at my site for a while and click around.
Right now I am averaging in the low 40s per day. not much growth since last month.

Are your AwStats higher or lower than others? That's the only stat counter I trust completely. -
AwStats is higher than Google analytics. I like the fact that Google Analytics gives me more info about incoming traffic, like what keywords they searched for to find me or how much time people spend on my site.

It all depends of what I'm writing about...If I write about S** it goes up...and the searching is most about that subject...but I count more on the response I get...not the number because some goes in just to take a half a second look...and for me that is something I don't count...;-) -

It varies a lot. According to my stats tracker thingy, some days I have as many as 300 visits, while most days I only get 10 or 20. Than there are days on end when it says 0. I have no idea why some days it's so high, and some days there are nothing, but I'd say 12 visits per day has to be my average, if you were to take every day and divide it up at the end of the year.
oh and this is from a blog start in 2004 with some 2,000 posts on it. (I have 32 blogs, this being the one that gets the most traffic)-

I think I get less than most people here - about 30 per day with a peak at 80. Been going a few months but I'm not terribly surprised as the focus is quite narrow and it's never going to have mass appeal! (and there aren't any monetising factors!).
I write it because I enjoy and actually started writing it as a completely private endeavour and only went 'public' when I realised I was going to continue to post for a long while! I've definitely noticed some posts and topics get more views and am lucky that a few relevant sites have linked to me - and to me that's more important.
I was very excited when I was linked to a blog in a national newspaper - even if it still only brought in about 70 views - it meant that people who might be interested are reading it! -

Just opened up my site again and getting around 25 unique per day. I plan on getting active in a few communities (Like this one) to get more popular. Another of my sites (not a blog) is getting over 7k unique a day, and I accomplished that through a lot of free Directories. I recommend them.-

My blog www.womanist-musings.com/ is getting about 180 hits per day. I have to work really hard it at by dropping link on other blogs when they have open thread day and joining carnivals. I am starting to get some repeat readership but it is really slow moving. I know that I write about really controversial stuff but that should make it more interesting to read right?-

Currently, I rack up about 300 visitors a day. I only started counting (Sitemeter) 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I started the blog in January this year and only used to see page impressions via AdSense. For a very long time it was laughable (read like... 10 a day) and then it increased and went up and up. I have been blogging every single day since mid-May.-

LW started on April 1, got 2.5 uniques/day that month, 8.5 uniques/day in June, and is due for 10 uniques/day this month. For site visits 15/day April, 45/day May, 46/day June, and hopefully 46/day July. Page views are like 5 times that.
We haven't promoted it at all, except what little's been posted here (which accounts for like nothing). We're working on putting shorts on youtube soon.-

Well I was averaging about 4 to 10 visitors a day until here recently, suddenly a picture of Bob Ross I had on the blog made it to the front page of Google Images and I did a post entitled "The New Excite E-mail System Sucks" and my numbers are steadily climbing toward 200 hits a day. Now if I could just get folks to look around a little more once they're there.

This is an old thread on a useless topic that has been resurrected. There's a lot of resurrection of old threads happening these days so before posting check the dates and you won't get suckered into necroposting.
(1) What value is there in knowing how many visitors other bloggers are getting to their "unrelated" blogs?
(2) Wouldn't the time be better spent on building a reader and search engine blog and promoting it so that the organic traffic to it does increase?
Currently there are 2 of these useless "how many visitors" and "how many hits" posts on the front page. That's not to mention the 3 other link drop "show me your blog" ones, and the "link exchanges" ones, despite the fact that link drop and link exchange threads are NOT allowed. So, be sure to check the dates before posting.-
TT- I think that threads like this are useful to some that are struggling with traffic, they can then check out some of the one with better traffic and see if perhaps those with more hits have better themes/layouts, more/less advertising etc. If looked at correctly, threads like this can assist some people in seeing mistakes or other issues that may be driving traffic away. Since many of us have our own unique preferences be it light text on dark templates, bright colors, huge pictures or widget over board it is often hard to see anything that needs improving on our own "masterpieces", so this gives real time examples of what is good and what is bad so to speak. The blogs with the highest hits have something in common, they are easily naviagated, clean and to the point regardless of if the same can be said about the content. a blog can have the best content in the world but if it is not easily navigated or easy on the eyes, I will not read it. I have learned personally from these threads to add a contact page, and have received great feedback from that.

I am getting more than 1 - 4 now. If you want to kill your traffic to a Blogger blog, add Adbrite, you will instantly see a drop in your traffic. I took all of it out and my traffic is back, 40 - 60 a day as compared to 1 - 4 with Adbrite. On my self hosted blog, Adbrite had no effect.
