we're 50% of the world's population so we should be 60% of bloggers.

  13. flummoxed1

  14. AmyWeber
    Who knew...LOL
  15. ghostytwofish
Actually, all silliness aside, most of the bloggers I read are female, and they do tend to have better blogs. I have NO idea why that is, but it's true.
  16. Aprilfreelance
I'm female, and it does seem that there are more women bloggers than men. Maybe it has to do with women being inherently more chatty.
    1. ghostytwofish
      No comment. :S

  30. jackpayne
Some 40 years ago the enrollment in Law Schools was 57% men, 43% women. Now it is directly reversed, 57% women, 43% men.

Women are taking over the world. Why not blogging too?
  31. digitalchatter

I'd say 45%. I think the Internet is still a male thing, but women are definitely slowly taking over. Just like we always do :-)

    Corrisa
  39. Nitehawk
The more the merrier, I say. And if it helps, I'm trying to get in touch with my feminine side ;-)

Also, all southern bloggers (or bloggers who just especially dig the South) check out our new discussion group at www.blogcatalog.com/group/southern-bloggers
  46. oxymoran
Yeh of course y'all are women...but today it was revealed in the highly distressing "Sex at BlogCatalog" thread in this very discussion forum, that anyone who has a female avatar is actually a man; a male avatar is a more often than not an animal; and an animal avatar a cross dresser...well maybe I'm a little confused about the details...but the point was that other members claimed that avatars are unreliable because devious people play games to throw the unsuspecting off the scent of their true identity. If that's the case, presumably these same devious people will use this thread to bolster their false identity. So if y'all are women how shall it be proved? Perplexing.
  47. JeanR
I am woman. Hear me roar...or maybe I should say, 'see me blog.'
    1. oxymoran
"Caregiving sucks, you know. Being a housewife sucks. Don’t try to talk me out of it! Don’t try to tell me I’m an angel or a saint---or worse, yet, “A good woman.” Don’t say, “That’s okay, dear, tomorrow your PMS will be better"

Yep the first four lines of the first post I read on your blog tells me you're either a woman or a bloody good faker!!! I'll go out on a limb and say you're the former.
  48. JeanR
I hope you read more than the first four lines because it was a humor post. LOL
  49. Mtnbarbie
oxymoran, has a point I'm female but am I really who I say i am?
There are many ways to find out, But they may take a little effort!

In my blogs I like to add a photo or two of myself, this way people know it's me and not some guy with a strange passion to imitate a women just to be popular.
  50. DaVincisBlogLog
it doesn't look like there are many of us...
  51. chicky401
ooh ooh, count me in! I'm chicky, I hope none of the guys use my name!

  54. bradhart
Not every female blogger is actually a woman. Three blogs I write or cowrite under a pseudonym have a female persona blogging. Two of those are quite popular and one of the bloggers has full back story, bio and pictures.
  55. craftymug
    I'm 100% female.
  56. alove5
    *raises hand*
    I'm another one!
  57. blackzero85

  58. Bayho

  59. mizztinez
soy una mujer.. I think more than half of us are women too.
  60. timethief
    @AmyWeber
There are over 80,000 BC members and most do NOT post to the forum. Therefore, any data based on forum responses to this thread (1/05/08) won't have much integrity.
  61. AmyWeber
We are missing Hillary Clinton. Maybe we should get her to blog here too.
    1. HelloAnnie
Read my lips. @TT is right to say most BC members do not come to forums. In which case, a group for women bloggers can be created. Truth be told, the avatars can be that of female, but the blogger is not.

btw, congrats on your new album...from your other thread.
