I haven't been unemployed in over 20 years. Its not a good feeling. I will begin looking tomorrow.

Is anyone out there having luck finding a job?

I don't get unemployment so I am really nervous about this

Yeah I know some friends who had never been, it's like it could never happen to them, like they discovered the real hard world.

As for me, I have always kept informed of economics and financial world, I knew it would happen and I now know it will worsen, so better be prepared even if I have still my job.

I was laid off last Sept but I saw it coming. We were pretty prepared and had already started looking. I found a pretty decent job with out having to take a huge pay cut by the end of Dec.

I have been unemployed for 4 months and counting. No, it's not a good feeling but it's an increasingly common feeling. I personally know 6 people out of work.

As for trader novice's advice to learn to trade, not all of us are soul less money grubbing money hoarders willing to sell their grandmothers for a buck.

yes I have been unemployed since September 2001 and I miss working. I miss talking to an adult human. Kids and dogs all day kind of suck.

it is a common feeling. even though i have a job now , i didn't get a decent one until i turned 29...so i was a bum for years and
years . so realizations like this make me want to tell people out there who are hard on themselves to take it easy.it will come. don't give up people.

Pretty much sums up the experience of unemployed people.

I'm going to find out tomorrow if I've gotten a job I went for on Tuesday...if I don't get it I will have to start panicking...

It is awful how many people are unemployed. I am a recruiter and a lot of the candidates I speak to have been laid off. But there are some industries hiring (teachers in some states, Border Patrol Agents, Medical Assistants and Nurses have many job openings) Here is a blog post with more info and jobs/industries that are looking for applicants: www.fightunemployment.com/2009/06/whos-hiring.html
