In an entry on my blog about the D.C. Voting Rights Act, a reader commented on it thanking me for that post because he wasn't even aware of the situation until he went for a business trip in Washington 6 or 7 years ago. It never really occurred to me until then that people probably do not know much about it, if anything. (For those of you who don't know, D.C. is subject to inequality because we do not have a voting representative in Congress because we are not a state. The link to my entry is dc202.wordpress.com/2009/03/16/sooooooo-close/ if interested in learning more about it, or go to www.dcvote.org) I am wondering just how many people out there know/knew about this issue?
