I have been on twitter a couple of weeks now. I check in and twitter about 5 times per day, give or take. How many times a day do you?

    Around 5 times or so. Maybe less. But when I'm on Blip.fm then it's way more.

    Honestly, not as much as I thought I would. Maybe once a day, if that. I'll do my best to try and use it more though

    I usually visit two or three tmes a day but each time is several hellos and comments plus announcements of any new post.

    Absolutely none! I got rid of Twitter over a month ago.

      any reason why? just not interested? not your thing?
    2. LynneaUrania
      Politics. Enough said.

    Not exactly sure "how many times a day" I twitter, but I know it's a lot. I started in Nov. '08 and have over 3,000 updates to date (June '09), which means I've tweeted an average of 16 times a day. Yes, I love Twitter.

    I don't even have an account. And I think the whole thing is a bit crazy. When did we reach the point of people having to document every mundane detail of their lives. "I'm in line at Taco Bell." Who cares?!?! It's enough to keep up with my blog posts!

      Wait, how did you guess?!

  8. Avellar
    I would say anywhere from 5 to 10 times on weekday. On weekends it's around 1 or 2.

    I just can't get into Twitter. It is such a time suck--another time suck that I don't need. I only use it to broadcast new posts.

      I agree. It'd be rather time-consuming for me.

    Question: How many times a day do you twitter?
    Answer: Usually three or less times each day, and on some days not at all.

    I primarily use twitter to announce new posts. I also consider twitter to be a time suck, and I have not received a significant flow of blog traffic from twitter. I'm a busy person, who multi-tasks online while amanging a small business and doing contracted work. I don't feel inclined to spend much time on "chat" so I don't spend much time there.
    1. melindaville
      I agree, tt--I have received very little traffic from Twitter. But I still announce new posts--*just in case*

      I'm now on friendfeed and I have it set up for auto-updating twitter.
    3. melindaville
      Friendfeed? I'll have to check that out. I would like that too.
    4. timethief
      I'm new to friendfeed but it looks promising.
      friendfeed.com/ I have been pruning the number of directories, social networks, forums, etc. that I participate in. My intention is to focus on no more than 5 and I'm working through them one by one now.
    5. melindaville
      That sounds like a smart idea, tt--too many can be counterproductive, I think--because you waste so much time. It's good to find a balance of the most effective ones that are time efficient, I think.

      You'll have to keep me updated on how you like friendfeed!
    6. timethief
      I'll be glad to do that. I've already joined some groups there:
      * ProBlogger Room
      * The Bloggers Discussions
      * Fuelmyblog Stuff
      * FriendFeed for Beginners
      Now I looking for "friends" there.

      I'm also trying out mixx again. www.mixx.com/

      I think you should consider trying out GLC Zone: A social network promoting total wellness www.glczone.com/
    7. melindaville
      TT--I do belong to GLC Zone. My problem is that I am so busy these days that I just don't have time to keep up with social networking sites. I've not been on here much because I am barely keeping my head above water. I'm here because I am in desperate need of distraction today.

      I can barely keep up with my teaching, my blog, BC, and my blog. And I still haven't finished my book--although I am *really* close right now. I only have 3 chapters left to edit. Since spring quarter, I have been teaching 7 classes--although 3 just ended. In another 3 weeks, the other 4 end--and then I am on va-cay for the summer (yay!). Hopefully, I will bang out the edits on the last few chapters and also find more time to catch up on all the reading I've been neglecting . . .

      @mytyler
      I laughed in a friendly way when I read this. We are quite the pair. Tourist season is upon us which means business is booming and blogging is taking a backseat to making a living. I'm so over-extended that I'm close collaspe so I'm taking a BC break too.
    9. melindaville
      @tt--well alright then! I don't feel so alone now!
    10. timethief
      OMG! We were doing what amounts to tweeting here without the 140 character limitation ...
    11. roentarre
      @TT

      You are on friendfeed too? I am on there but having no friends. The place disorient me.

  18. trailofpen
    maybe 2-3 times a week at most
  19. NatetheGrate
    Sometimes one, sometimes 10, sometimes 20. It all depends on what's going on and whether I'm tweeting directly with a friend.
  20. easternmainesports
    Maybe five times at the most usually less.
