How many times do you check blog stats?

Okay, I'm completely addicted. Roughly four (hundred) times a day, I check to see how many people have been to my blog. I'm curious about two things, mostly from those whose blogs have been established for some time.
1) Does one continue to obsess about how many visitors come to a blogger's site each day, or does it wear off over time?
2) How much has your daily blog traffic increased since you first started your blog? Compare, say, your first month to this month.

1. If you're the obsessive type like me, it gets worse and worse. I really need to get a real life.
2. I've had a pretty good increase in traffic lately. I'm glad, but it's not helping my quest for a real life. -
I actually don't check them at all anymore.
In the beginning I did and it used to drive me crazy (What? only 50 people today? Yesterday was 60, what happened) and all that kind of stuff but then once I started to get a few hundred people per day I gave up on checking.
I think right now my personal blog gets around 800 people per day visiting (when I add new things which is every day or every other day) and my business blog gets (checking here.....) 1600 per day.
Once I made a few solid link deals with other successful bloggers I just didn't need the headache anymore.

We got past "Facebook Week" and "Twitter Week" on Source Blogger, now we're in the throws of "Backlinks Week."
Once these weekly themes are over, I have an article about this very subject. If you/anyone has an article on this topic, I wouldn't mind reading it.
As time passes, the desire to check stats/analytics becomes less and less. Sort of like one's stock market holdings.

It's not the wisest practice to obsess, I'm learning. I had 80+ visitors two days ago and 55 yesterday and I started fretting.
"Ohmigod. Ohmigod. I've lost it! It's over!"-
You won't be able to maintain your blogging operations with that type of anxiety.
Blog traffic, like stocks, can vary greatly in short periods.
Blogging, like stocks, is an investment of which I don't expect a return for at least 12-24 months.
If you can start a blog with the expectation of no money and no visitors, in your first year, it will save you a lot of grief. Patience is a friend to the blogger.
