I am greatly surprised at the amount of traffic I am getting, two days ago I got 1400 unique viewers and I am averaging about 500 a day and my blog isn't even a month old! What do you guys get?

I only got 1600 uniques last month.

    How do you do it?
  2. jwojdylo
it takes work, i use Twitter, Stumbleupon and Messageboards in my niche. I also try to stay ahead of the crowd on what will be searched and write about it prior. I get at least 150 searches on google a day.

I too find your site traffic interesting. Officially, it is only 16 days old. You have no google rank, 70 indexed pages, your Alexa rank of 724,051 is in the top 2.36 % of all websites.

You also have 2081 inbound links, you have only 1 del.icio.us bookmark, and no diggs. And NO meta tags or keywords.

I am very interested in more specifically you get so much traffic so fast???

    Please share.

the google rank is obviously a misnomer as it will be ranked the next time google ranks pages, not sure if it will be a 3 or 4, but that is what I would imagine. I promote on a lot of message boards and get my name out there through stumbleupon and keyword searches....the meta tags and keywords are irrelevant as it is a blog so the keywords come from the well written posts.

I'm sure the reason it is "N/A" is because the site is so new.

  7. PotatoChef

  8. jwojdylo
    how new potato?
  9. jwojdylo
going to be another huge day; you have to find some contraversy and post on that, gets HUGE traffic!
  10. henchmanmike
Two months of my site and I avg 80 new visitors a day. not a bad start.
  11. jwojdylo
not a bad start, keep plugging away!
  12. loredan
So you get 1400 unique visitors on a 16 days old blog not even fully indexed?

Hmmm...why do I smell a linkbait here? ...also what stats do you use?
  13. jwojdylo
google analytics, also check my alexa, I do link my site in my signature box on message boards, I do not deny that
  14. curlydesigh
I am hovering around 70+ a day and trying to bump that up

On my blog www.postcardsfromthefunnyfarm.com I had 5040 uniques the last 30 days: 9/21 to 10/21. I averaged 163 visits a day in that time. That's how it's been about the past year. I have a bunch of stuff I do. Social Media really has been a help.
  16. huggingthecoast
Quantcast says I'm getting 3K uniques a month and (like everyone else) am looking for more growth/lower bounce. So far, I've been using social media mainly.
  17. IbneAdam
    How many hits daily?

    Hundreds, even thousands.

    Yours

  21. cranelegs
now for some straight talk math my friends.

i get about 463 a day but they are all from my mom. 300 from my mom and 163 from me checking. so a total of two unique hits a day.

not bad really for a year and half of writing.

For a personal blog like I have I am happy with my stats: For today this is the stats I got from my ad platform so no bias in there: They do the stats every hour: (views are those who stay and read not just click your site and leave)

    HourViewsUniques

    1:00 10 4

  23. Gadgeteer
    42,000 page views.

1400 unique viewers is very very good for a new blog.

Ah man I meant to say one unique and only one page view!
  24. bradhart
One micro niche blog got 12 unique visitors 20 page views and 5 ad clicks for a grand total $2.21.

Another blog got 2919 unique visitors and 4237 page views for a grand total of $1.97

Another got 657 uniques 1987 page views and $7.65 in profits.

The point is unless your traffic does something other than show up then leave it isn't very product

My blog must be very boring...I think, lol
  26. ModelElaine
searches count; socail traffic doesn't. I don't pay attention to social traffic
  27. Gadgeteer
Crissy do you sell prints ?
  28. Saem
i'm jealous because i don't get much traffic. like chrissy, i think my blog is also boring. i heard a lot about stumble upon and i'll try to download it.
  29. krzkrzkrz
Hmm interesting indeed. Must be a niche topic. That or a link bait as someone has suggested. Ive gotten mine of the ground a few weeks ago and now have an average of 15 unique users. However, to get this, it takes a lot of work
  30. serkevin
    Hmmm... try 5, lol
  31. ModelElaine
    On my new blog:

    102 Visits
    197 Pageviews
    1.93 Pages/Visit 77.45% Bounce Rate
    00:04:09 Avg. Time on Site
    73.53% % New Visits

PS: I have to say this was on a highest day when my article got picked up on digg
  32. amitchopra22
visits around 30 -50, and unique visits are 10
  33. geekfabrique
145 unique visits a day for a 4 week old blog.

    gagdirectors.blogspot.com

I need visitors because the blog will pay for a feature film.

    Any suggestions?
    1. geekfabrique
The 145 figure was from Google impressions. Just checked Alexa and I'm not even on their radar, how does that happen?
  34. radioflyer1980
    I'm averaging about 50 - 75 a day so far in 2009 (up from 25 in 2008).

However, the past couple of weeks, I'm averaging over 125 a day and had one day with about 500. I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary; wish I could bottle it
