Hi Zenvengo! I got $200 for 7 weeks, all of my revenue came from free blogs (blogspot). Most of them are static blogs, not necessary to waste your time to do daily update. not much. i'm not sure how, but i received a $100 referral way back in my early days of signing up. i'm still around the $65 mark since my first and only payment, and it only increases by about 50 cents per day. I know I could be doing things better. It seems to be a winner for so many sites. -

I've had an adsense account for a couple of years now and have yet to receive a payout.
I have begun to see a rise in pennies, nickles, and dimes being added to my adsense piggy bank, however, since I started my blog.
There's hope? :-)-

You hardly have any adsense there! the beautytips has zero adsense and the Baby Boomers has only one link ad at the top (which by itself doesn't produce any revenue. One needs to click on the ads created by the link ads)
I'm almost 100% sure you'll see more action once you add some more adsense. Go for it -- just experiment! G'luck. -
Zakman, thank you. :-) I have been trying to determine which ads and/or referrals would be my best bet as well as where to place them on my Baby Boomers blog. I think I need to clean some things off my sidebars and then step back to see about where to place them. It's getting to be too cluttered IMO.
I haven't made a definite decision yet as far as whether or not to put them on my Beauty Tips blog. I'm an Beauty Consultant and would much prefer to draw attention to the products I provide rather than someone else's. This blog is more geared towards building relationships with potential clients and providing them as well as my existing clients with tips and knowledge. :-) -
That's a good question...How much do you have to reach before they actually pay you?

Fresh content is the most important thing. There is so much duplicate content out on the web that you want get much search engine love this way. www.copyscape.com/ is a site where you can see who also has that story on the web. Google is continually changing their alogrithims for page rank. As a result they are giving less and less credit as a trend to content that is not freshly written.

If you are not using the google toolbar it can be dowloaded for IE or Mozilla where you can see what sites are at.

I have several sites and at their best they pulled in $400 a month but since then I dont update as much as I should and its slipped to just over a $100 -
i make a few cents per week!!!!!! sad but its soo true!!! i dont get how u guys make so much money u hv to hv like hundreds of clicks!! -
Just a warning to everybody here... disclosing your # of click, CTR or eCTR is stricly prohibited by adsense's TOS..
You do have the right to tell how much you are making though.

since starting my blog, my earnings are steadily increasing. but nothing to brag about, yet. and i see the potential in blogging versus forums or regular websites. my aim is to become a pro blogger and earn a living from it. -

You have to put it where everyone can see it to actually earn more clicks.

I think it's great for websites that offer internet advice and marketing advice and get loads of traffic but if you don't blog about that; it's better finding your own affiliates
linkshare and sharealinnk are two companies I signed with and found my own affiliates. I hope this works out better. Plus I have better control over the ads. I think one time Adsense had a dildo up there.. I was beyond mortified. But I will read your article anyways kiltak.. who know's maybe I will give it a whirl again.-
Wrong, you can write about anything.. and people will come. You only need to market it properly.
Diet, health, technology, marketing, diseases, food, consumer electronics, psychology, these are *ALL* profitable niches.

I'm thinking... I know that encouraging clicking is wrong, but what if we were to set up a google AdSense community? I'm sure all of us at some point or the other do click on Google Ads because we are genuinely interested in the advertised site. Rather then let an unknown party earn from it, why not let a person in our community whom we know earn and I'm sure he/she will appreciate that.-
I think if Google finds out, your original payment amounts could be deducted.

You should research on how many people join Google everyday and how many of them are banned few months later .. They will not get any $$$.

AdBrite.com seems decent. I dumped AdSense and went with it for a while--made $13. I'm still not sure whether the ads are worth the distraction they create on my blog, but generally I think a few cents is a still a few cents I didn't have before.

I already have a Bidvertiser at the bottom of my blog. It doesn't seem to generate very relevant ads because it is program to display the highest bid ad. I'm still testing it out and I believe it complements AdSense well because there are no restrictions to the number of ads you can place. I will read more on it and do a review of Bidvertiser tonight.

I think I made about $1, that was a while ago, then upgraded to Blogger beta, the AdSense disappeared never tried again.
I don't have enough time to sustain the level of posting required to attract enough readers. I just blog whenever I have little bit of time (like now on holiday).
However I joined two affiliate program this week-end will see (SEOBook and Amazon).
Do you make enough money to "pay" for the time you spend blogging anyway?-
I think blogging should be a hobby.

In the 3 months I have had my blog, I am up to $35 at Adsense. I also have Bidvertiser, but just started with them, I have made $ .45 so far. I have a few more I will apply to after June 17th when my blog is officially 90 days old. -

I really hope you decide not to dump them. Google's Adsense program is one of the few legit ways to make money online.
Almost every blog has the potential to make money using Adsense - your blog just needs a good looking over to see how it can be optimized better.

i had an adsense account before but it was suspended for invalid clicks. i was making 1-7 dollars a day on average. The pay per click is really high-- over $1 per click. I was able to find the right highpaying keywords for my blog. It took weeks of testing and experimenting but only to be terminated before i was to receive my first check.
i don't know why it was terminated. just one day, after 5 days of inactivity online, i checked my account and boom-- everything was gone. i must have violated some rules. i never clicked on my ads but i did a lot of advertising and really a lot!!! -

Obviously the best way to earn more is to get more traffic. But it has to be a certain type of traffic. Communties that already know about ads, such as digg users, other bloggers won't increase your clicks no matter how much traffic they send. Yet there are other people that "click happy" and will click on whatever they see. For the most part, these people come from Search engines. -
I have made only $21 in the last two months, which is not that much, although my blog is in Hungarian (one must use the webtranslator to read it). It doesn't have anything to do with traffic: my readers just don't care about G's sometimes stupid ads, they only read the content and they comment them, that's all.
It's a long process to make any substantial money with actually zero job.
I dunno when I'm gonna get rich from AdSense... -

Just a reminder to you all AdSense fan. Don't try to push your AdSense too hard in any ways. Focus on your content, which can benefit your viewer. If you push your revenue too hard, Google may just ban you forever. Don't dramatic increase your page views or traffic. There is no magic to boost your traffic in few days. Google will monitor the rising stars ... and shot it down.
Trust me. I was once the the shinning star. Now I am in the black hole.-
That's very true. I had posted a youtube video on my site that had a clip of the Simpsons. I received a SURGE of traffic because of it, mostly through technorati in Japan. Now I didn't have clicks, but I went from 30-50 per day to 300, for 3 days. I got a very terse letter from Google indicating that "paying" or offering "incentives" is against their ToS. It was just a warning letter. I actually got two, but they were seconds apart.
I wrote them an explanation that I never did that and simply got a canned reply.

I use adsense because anything is better than nothing,which is a good attitude to start with. After reading most of these replies, Im inspired to tighten up and play with this more. Theres potential for the blog to be self-supportive if nothing else. Right on. 4$ here. -

I see that I have posted here twice before. So far I have managed to earn at least the $100 month minimum each month - but of course I am striving for more!
I know "to each his own" but don't give up on your blog or Adsense. I think its a great way (and more importantly a great LEGITIMATE way) to be able to earn money online. -
I make about $20-30 a month, and almost none of it is from my blogs. It is all from my main website, www.innercompass.com.au.
There are a couple of main reasons for this: I have hundred of pages of fresh content on my website, and not as much on my newer blogs I also promote my websites through articles I publish in article directories, and I am also paying for Adwords to promote my ezine. So far my adsense does not equal my adwords income, but I do have 1000 people on my newsletter. Hurray!
Sooo...it's all about targeted traffic, providing fresh content, and the missing piece (for me) is in a profitable niche! -

Unfortunately any blog can be worked with if you want to optimize it for adsense. Remember "Mad" magazine? It was done for humor and they had ads in their magazine.
You have to make the decision whether or not you want to optimize your blog or website for adsense and then make it possible!

I've been with adsense since 2002 and started blogging May 31, 2005. I first hit the cumulative $100 payout in Dec/2005 and broke $100 per month in Feb/2007. I have been luckier with Text-Link-Ads in 2007 and was averaging upwards to about $175 per month - until June 2007 when I moved all my accounts from 2 servers to a virtual private server (VPS). I then got another lump of downtime in August converting again to a dedicated server because the VPS wasn't enough. This month of Aug/2007 .. I'll be lucky to break $75 in adsense.
If you listen to what everybody who is making money with adsense .. listen good. It's all about the traffic. The more people that come to your site the more opportunity you will have to make make money. To get that traffic, you really do need more than BlogCatalog or MyBlogLog to promote your sites .. you do need content and you do need readers. 80% of my traffic so far is from search engines.

Not much, I think 30$ in a year since I last checked. I'm more focussed on decent content and implementing some rather large community features at the moment though, rather than monetizing.

Guys, I don't get it.
After 6 months of constant blogging (1-4 posts a day!), I've only made...um, lets see...load you stupid page...$17.75 cents. I want to cry. I get on average, 300-500 visitors a day. I try and read stupid books about how to optimize adsense and it's made some difference...like a few extra cents and that's it!
Could anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I don't like to fill up my posts with keywords because it just pisses me and my readers off. But what's the point of writing funny-ish content if the ads still aren't relevant?

Since this discussion was started, I have been searching for ways to increase my Adsense earnings, because I believe it is a solid way to truly earn money. it was only recently that I started having daily clicks on my Adsense when I blog about the Bible for a couple of days.. But I only earn less that $2.00/day for a couple of hits..gee... Traffic is good though... And today I didn't post anything about the bible and I didn't get any hits on my google adsense.. I will try it again tomorrow and see.
Use webmaster tool and it will tell you what topics that is giving you traffics and it will give you google adsense clicks..

Zola, you need to implement Meta Tags (description and movie related keywords).
Try to place at least one ad above the fold (probably inside the post, below the title (468x60) or right below the blog description (728x90).
Send your blog to some directories and exchange links with movie related sites.
I just added you to my blogroll in a PageRank 4 movie related blog CineUruguay.blogspot.com (I have 1900 pages or so).
Keep posting those articles and you´ll be in the money for the next Google dance.
