   It took me 9 months with 3 months dormanting with no entries for me and I reach $100 mark on 7/31/07 and this month has been good and my adsense balance is at $136.01.     There are many other options to monetize a blog without using adsense such a TLA, Amazon, etc. Unless your blog has a narrow scope and is highly trafficked it is unlikely you will be able to quit your day job using adsense. I have have had much better success with adsense on my website.

       I don't use AdSense although I have done in the past. From what I know, it is dependant on the number of unique hits and impressions your adverts receive and also, the number of legitimate clicks you receive. Other than that, I have no idea.

    Publish some helping tips on your blog and use appropriate advertisement which match your blog matter with customize background color so that it should look like your article, use same background color of your body text ,always put horizontal ads between your posts with similar fore color and background color of your contents. 70% of visitor just uses Google for some helping tips. Around 150 unique visitors visit my blog per day since 3 month and my ad has been clicked in average around 10. My earning is in the average of 110 per month and I am getting it monthly.
    
    Tips: my contents are incomplete, when visitor need some more help they are forced to click the ad to get more info, that so why always create the channel which is similar to your topics. If you want to change the ad just sign in to adsense and edit the channel, change the keywords and place it again.
