Yesterday I got 34 visitors from stumbleupon and was wondering how much others are getting.

Depends on the post. Things with lots of photos tend to go better than ones that are more text-heavy. Whereas I think Redditt is a bit better for text-oriented posts.

I've had some stumbles go in the 300-700 visitors range over a short period of time. It also depends on who thumbs it up.

      300-700?? how?

It was around Thanksgiving and I'd had a post where folks could download scans of Thanksgiving postcards from around 1909. It did really well.

But like Offended Blogger said, it does depend on who Stumbles you.

Not so much traffic coming from them..

I've had a few of my posts stumbled and they usually get me around 300-700 (like thrift said) visitors for the day... Got stumbled yesterday actually on my post: www.letsbitch.com/2008/06/05/sure-you-hate-it/

I normally get several hundred at the peak, and a few dozen in the following period.

I got around 7,000 page views from stumble last month.

Ive gotten as much as 900, but then again it depends on who gives ya the big thumbs up.

The question is - How much QUALITY visits do you get from stumbledupon.

I get many visits (thanks everyone for your love) but very little amounts to more than a drive thru - with no fries...

Thanks for reminding me benny your blog is one I wanted to make sure I stumbled. Turns out I did.

      thanks Shirley -

As it goes... I have stumbled your blog - and different stories on different days...

      Thanks

Yeah but you are looking at it the wrong way. If 10,000 people come and 10 subscribe aren't those 10 worth getting for the little effort it takes to use stumbleupon?

Also you have to considering the branding element. People starting knowing about your site. People have seen it before and there is name recognition.
    4. Shiley
That makes sense. I just started the account recently and I never thought of it that way.

I am all about the branding element. I wonder how many of the drive-thru people remember the brand. I know that the effort is minimal. But of the ratio is 10 of 10,000 the effort would have to be minimal. I have no issue with the idea behind how stumble works, I just wonder in the end if it is effective at all...

But you would know better - as you have been using it much longer then all of us...

      so please share

It is all about planting the seed when it comes to branding.

But really I look at stumble has having long tail impact on my site.

I have to say that it gives me a good traffic flow even when I don't have a blog posted. You have to view things looking at the long tail impact of things. If I have 20-40 pages on stumbleupon going back months and I am still even getting a trickle of traffic from them then it is worth it.

My content is being exposed to new people with little to no effort.

If you site is being tagged correctly when submitting it to stumbleupon then you are getting targeted traffic of people with the same interest set it is your job as the blogger to convert that view to a subscriber, a bookmarker, a reader.

yeah i agree... stumbleupon like all the the social networks are a great addition for gettng more traffic over time... And aren't they a good way of getting back links as well...

If think stumbleupon is one of the better ones...one post of mine got 170 hits in one hour a couple of months ago and now still gets traffic...months later now one or two visitors a day... when you have heaps of stumbled pages it all adds up...:)

I just got stumbled yesterday and my visits went from about 200 for the day before to just shy of 1000 for yesterday. By the way, Thank you very much Shiley!

I am new to blogging and had a steady increase of hits each day but nothing like that.

Stumble is great, I get a lot of traffic from them depending on who stumbled me.

Like Kevin pointed out, I don't mind if they are drive-by's either, I notice my subscriber count goes up each time I get a nice amount of stumble traffic.

I get about 3-4 hits a day from stumbleupon, and they usually don't even read the post. I don't think a single one of my posts have gotten a thumbs up from anyone but me, and I'm also pretty positive I haven't tagged my entries right, so take that for what it's worth.

Useless traffic - most out as soon as in.

I view SU in the same way as Entrecard, a lot of the traffic is rubbish, but I'd still rather have them and have to opportunity to engage a new visitor than not have them at all.

Yesterday, 278 from SU. Today, so far 412. This particular blog is only about 3 weeks old and doesn't have tons of content yet. But, with SU, Digg and any of the social media sites, it all depends on whether or not a few people like your submission and off it goes...

    I am a huge fan of Stumble -- I think its great : ]

I'm a newbieto SU and I'm not using it very well to generate traffic to my site. I have the Stumble It widget on my blog posts and I've gotten one reader who stumbled one of my posts. Should I be adding each new post I upload on my blog to StumbleUpon (like I do to Kirsty) to generate traffic or is that not allowed?

FYI, count for today is 591 visits from SU. Not too shabby...
