Hello there,
You haven't shared how old your blog is or whether or not your have registered with search engines as yet. Likewise you haven't shared whether or not you have established a Google webmaster's account and have created and submitted a sitemap.
You also haven't shared whether or not your blog pages have been indexed by Google and Technorati spiders as yet, and wheter or not other bloggers have backlinked to any of your published posts. And you haven't shared wheter or not you have been assigning tags to your posts and using keywords in the titles, subtitles and text of your posts.
Consequently, I'm giving you these links to how to posts based on the assumption that your blog is brand new.

I hope these posts are helpful but please don't hesitate to post again if you need more help. -
Comment on other blogs that have similar topics, particularly where linkbacks are allowed.
Link to, and comment on, CNN articles. CNN online has (or had, up until very recently) a 'what the blogs are saying' feature at the bottom of many articles. Be sure the CNN article has something to do with your post, of course.
I wouldn't bother with submitting to search engines, if you're using Blogger - Google picks up material there very rapidly - and that filters out through other search sites. If you've got endless time on your hands, and want something to fill the empty hours, go ahead, though. Submitting websites to DMOZ is a pretty good idea, though. In my opinion.
And, the trite old advice: write engaging, easy-to-read copy: and stick to one subject per post. Putting keywords near the top of your text does two things: lets your human readers know what in blazes you're writing about (an important point, too often missed), and seems to help with search ranking. -
Just put good content and wait. Keep active in the social media and put a link to your blog on your profile. It will come naturally.
