I just wrote a post on worms in stomach. I used to take deworming medicine when I was still a kid but has not been taken it for quite a very long time. I heard people say worms usually attack children than adults. How true is this? But this doesn’t guarantee the Adults is worms-free, right? So, when and how often we should take deworming medicine? Wait until we see the symptom?

My husband tells me that worms were a huge problem in the country he grew up in (not Malaysia). Here in the USA, the problem appears to be rare. - Nards

It is rate but possible for humans to get worms! I have known people when I lived in the UK who got worms. Easy to get rid of though, a simple tablet and no more worms

I have taken them before, not because I thought I had worms but I took my dog to the vets who got dewormed and he asked if I wanted tablets for the same, for humans of course so I said 'why not'...

We used to get worms as kids and you had to drink this horrible strawberry milkshake thing to get rid of them. I never hear of people getting them now.

I had to drink that! It was disgusting.

By me, I mean someone else.

I remember having to take that as a kid after we got a new dog. Eww. And why am I reading this at lunchtime?

Hmm.... I guess it all depends on what kind of worms you are talking about.

If you have a pet with worms then the whole family needs to be de-wormed. The dosage varies on weight of the person taking it.

I've never been dewormed. How do you know if you have worms? Now I'm paranoid.

No idea this thread is still alive. Accidentally found it. By the way, I think when your XXX start itchy especially at night when you're sleeping, it is time to de-wormed. This is what I have been told when young, you can confirm this with the doctor.

Turns out that worms being commonplace among those of our ancestors who were poor has led to genetic adaptation to their immunity-sapping characteristics, leading to the prevalence in autoimmune diseases among their decendents who have no such worms

Diatomaceous earth people take it for that purpose and give it to their animals buy it has to be food grade. It also kills bugs but that is not the food grade type. You get that type at the farmers co-op
