The age of Rama (A king who ruled Ayothi) is about 5000 years ago roughly.

Whether it is 5000 years old or 100000 years old, it is one another fiction book. This is one book which positively projects war as a means to settle scores. Why can't the god set a good example by settling an issue through dialogue than a war? It is funny to see gods resorting to war to settle issues.

The same is the case with many other religious books. For example bible legitimized incest:

Society would be better off without these religious books...

Indeed, standing up for yourself and justice is a very bad teaching. Always listen to powerful and have dialog with the people who do unspeakable things to you
      Sound good?

    How old is Ramayan:
Let us not get confused between Ramayan and history of the Treta Yug which features the event during the time of Shri Ram. Since Ramayan was written by sage Valmiki during the time of Shri Ram itself, the period is at least 5, 00,000 (five lac) years old.
Ancient Hindu text contains the entire history of the world since inception. It is yet to be disproved. You can get some details of the history of that period, and reasons for the event of those period from my various posts in my blog AGNI PARIKSHA OF SITA and the link is www.blogcatalog.com/topic/AGNI+PARIKSHA+OF+SITA/, or you can visit awara32.blogspot.com/
Regarding the age of Ramayan or Treta Yug, I shall be writing a separate post, about it, after some time.

It is 1000000 years old, approx.
It is one of the best Indian holy book, and it is about The king Rama of Ayodhya.

    Anything else?
