Am I missing something here, because everyone I know have gotten major results with Stumble, and it has yet to do anything for me. How is it working for you?

Alright, than it's not just me. I don't know how the others do it, but I swear Stumble is always being mentioned on one of the ways people get traffic.
-
You must be an established stumbler so that each of the page you discovered (stumbled for the first-time) will be exposed more.
More stumbler will then view your page, if they like it and give a stumble, more exposures will come. More and more and more....
The idea is you discover your own article so that other stumbler can see. But chances are, if you rarely stumble nor review other sites, you won't get any notable traffic.
I never believe in SU traffic, they don't fit my niche.. -
StumbleUpon is a way to drive traffic by mouth to mouth. People gonna spray the word about your article if you have a unique, interesting article. The way is work is really simple, someone like your article they will stumble it to their fan. If one of the fan like it he will stumble and share it again will his fan. Voila!

Hi HappyFood'
Stumble - I thought the same but i started by just stumbling my own blog articles and gradually i am starting to see traffic - only 20 - 30 visits a month but that's 20 - 30 I didn't have before.
One day when I get a moment, I will devote more time to it and try to build it into something more but for now, a foothold is all i can devote time to.
Especially when Mandy has had me add three new photo gift products this week - teddy's in t-shirts, bottle t-shirts and a new glass wall clock.

Well...I checked your site and if you want traffic from Stumble then you have to use it.
It doesn't look like you submitted any of your pages or your site. I gave you a thumbs up on your keira post which will put it out there for the Stumble world.
It probably won't bring you much traffic as it is a short little post but your better content you need to submit if you want anyone to see it.
Let us know if you get a spike (albeit small) from this first stumble. -
1) Only occasionally stumble your own stuff
2) Build up a friend following on there, have a link to your blog on your stumble page and review a lot of other stumblers
3) Go to the stumble upon group on here and submit your posts on the daily thread and have other bc members stumble your pages (if they like the posts)-
Hello I don't know what's going on! Few days ago I submited my blog ( right yesterday I submited some pages of my blog too) and I also thumbed up more than 70 sites that I liked them (I gave some reviews too) and three friends of mine thumbed up my blog but so far I didn't receive any stumble upon visitors (no one!). What doesn't it work? Many people say that they received almost Immediately huge traffic. If you want to check, my blog is:
www.grassosalvato86.blogspot.com and my stumbleupon username is: salvatograsso86
thank you very much! bye!

The Stumble bar is a great way to find interesting sites, and it makes it very easy to rate and review sites that you find on your own. The more you contribute to the site, the more you'll get out of it. If you spend all your time promoting your own stuff, people will notice, and it will work against you.

We get a bunch of traffic from SU and we love the site. You will find a ton of interesting sites if you use the toolbar. Be careful and don't submit too many of your own articles or you'll get labeled as a spammer. We got a thumbs down the other day so we've had to back off a little. It really pays off when you give reviews. You do this by clicking the conversation icon next to the tags icon and write a short review on the site or article.
Feel free to check out www.ImaNicePerson.com and stumble ONLY if you like.
Have a NICE day! -
Stumble doesn't work for everyone really, humor or picture sites do really well. Stuff that is interesting to read or short stories etc. Even news does well if its breaking news, and has a shock/cool value about it. The more people who have you added as friends and are active the more 'pull' you have basically.
We used to add a bunch of each other at first, but realized that if you don't participate regularly your stumble isn't as powerful. I've been removing stumble friends that haven't logged on in more than a month to make room for more active stumbler friends. -
Guys, Caroline Middlebroook wrote something today about SU. You can really see how it work, how to have a good stumble and what influences the post you stumbled.

This really helped me.. -
There are 2 great guides to SU in the form of links to other good articles, you'll probably find pretty much all you need there, as long as you have the patience to do lots of reading:

Yeah, I think it has to do with networking as well. If you Stumble a lot, more than likely a bunch of people will check out your favorites and if they like your content, they're add you to their friends list.
The more people who Stumble your article, the more traffic it will potentially bring in. But it also depends on what your article is about too. At DatCurious.com I have gotten about 1200 visits in one day. But at DatMoney.com the most in one day was probably like 500-600ish?
So, it does also depend on the content.

I found out that you need to make friends on stumble so that they will come and look at your profile. They can then find their way to your blog if your have it set up in your profile. If they give your blog thumbs up, then their friends will get to see your blog page that was given thumbs up, and so the cycle of networking and making more friends begins.
The more friends you make the bigger the variety of stumbles you will get, because you get to stumble your friends' stumbles! -
The more you stumble others, the more you will be stumbled! I started off getting just one or two here and there, but it has slowly increased to several each day. Not raking in the hundreds a day (YET) but working on it! Besides, it's fun!

Stumble is also not unlike Digg in that your topic has to speak to the core users who also happen to be the most active. Not all topics work.
Also as has been said by a number of other folks above, you do have to make yourself a part of the community just like in any social setting.
Consider this... if you walk into a party going on in a stranger's house (say it is a meeting of the neighborhood gourmet club) and start loudly talking about yourself and your love of cars to whomever happens to be standing close by... what are the odds that anyone there will give you the time of day. They may even ask you to leave.
It is like any marketing, it requires some strategy, recon, and patience to make it work right.
