Heh, really I think it is being headstrong while at the same time knowing when to give up and move on to something else. There's a fine line between making progress and making a big mistake.

Thinking less about success. I think that a nebulous concept of "achievement" and a constant looking forward to when things are "better" is hard on quality of life and encourages one to look right past the things that really matter because the eyes are fixed firmly on the next goal and can't see anything to either side.
