I told everyone when I got back from Blog World Expo that I would be writing about twitter. We had a small discussion about it on a different thread. I know some people think the use of it is pointless and others don't really know about it. So I figured I would link to my post and start a discussion here.
Do you think twitter can be an effective tool for you?

My professor is follows other professors within his field of study on twitter
You may want to change that -
That is a most interesting article, which has gotten me thinking.
Many thanks, sir. Many thanks indeed! -
Very interesting post. It seems that the utility of twitter will vary according to the number of people with similar interests using it.
Also, what about wanting to twitter certain kinds of information to some people but not others? Doesn't the twitter concept presuppose that everything you post is going to be relevant to everyone in your electronic life? A pretty bad assumption for some people, I should think.-
Well the thing is I think you have to choose a path and how you are going to use. If you are going to connect to other history professors, sharing that you just had a cup of coffee might not be worth it.
But then again it is such a disposable medium and I don't think people would care the occasional trivial post.
