Guys , I was wondering if you know any free tool that can be helpful to find my position in a certain key word on a Google search.

For example under "Sri Lanka" I want to find my blog ( slblogs.org ) position in Google search. How can I do this ?

Hmmm.. Do I have to do manually?

    This tool is horrible...

    Google Pos - douweosinga.com/projects/googlepos

It says I'm in top 100 and position 3.. God I wish I was but I'm not even top 100 when I did manually.. he he..

    Any tools my friends?

There are some tools like web posistion gold that do it. manually it is pretty easy to do mannually, if you are in the top 100 or 200. Set preferance to display 100 results, and use find and your domain name in the browser

You're aiming high if you want your site to turn up first for a keyword like "sri lanka". That's tough. Have you considered "sri lanka blogs" or "sri lanka blog directory"?

      True.. Thanks..

Just thinking. Take my site. It's about Nescafé coffee around the world. I don't think my site will ever show up for just "nescafe" in Google. But as I build my posts, country by country, eventually I can make it to the top with "nescafe + country" or "nescafe + product name". Try "nescafe indonesia" and my blog is on top already. As strange as it may seem, the narrower the better. That's my experience. There are billions out there searching for "sri lanka". You want the 10000 that search for "sri lanka blog directory". Try to build the keyword(s) that you want to show up in Google into every post, use meta tags and technorati tags. Repeat repeat repeat...
