How long ago did you submit your site? I can take up to weeks even more than a month before your site gets indexed in Yahoo.

I submitted a long time ago too and haven't seen traffic from Yahoo until recently.

Probably because my keywords are hitting in Yahoo search.

    I'll give you a puzzle..

Yahoo Search "Acoustic Guitarist" , you should see my blog at the top

and then click on the link to my blog and have a look at my sidebar

I'll give you one hint "What does Yahoo own?"

I didnt see your blog on the first page.

it is from where i'm looking at it

just create a mybloglog account, it's the fastest way

most other ways are pretty useless

the old way was through the yahoo directory (not search engine)

      try "country guitar scales"

I get a slightly better result from google

my site is not indexed either.

It might take up to a month or more for Yahoo to index your site but anytime faster than Google does. Submit to their directory as well and also to other online related directories, it will help your site get indexed.

    It's Cool!

If you use the SEO-All-In-One plug-in for Wordpress it has a line in the set-up for a "developers" code. I followed the instructions and ended up with a Yahoo code to insert. Two days later I was indexed into Yahoo! and within 3 minutes of publishing a post it is in Yahoo!. I continue to use the same code in other blogs I set-up and it works each time. Maybe, you need to look into this angle.

Understanding that I am a complete novice at this blogging experience.

Make a MyYahoo! account and add your feed there. That increases the chance of Yahoo indexing your site. Also, leave links to your site in Yahoo owned websites - example would be Yahoo Buzzing your content.

Please read this and you will find your answer to how to register your sites with Yahoo and other search engines too.
Here are some ways to promote your blog and increase your readership.

    A. Find www.technorati.com on the web. Register and create an account, claim your blog(s), tag them, create a watchlist and register your favorite blogs. You will find that the site has excellent instructions to help you work through all the steps.

    B. Also be sure to register your blog so you get the attention of search engines. It is said that Google's directory comes straight from the DMOZ Directory so look into getting your blog site listed in it. The DMOZ, commonly known as the Open Directory Project dmoz.org/about.html has strict guidelines as to who is listed.
"If your site has been accepted into the Open Directory, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months for your site to be listed on partner sites which use the Open Directory data, such as AOL Search, Google, Netscape Search, Yahoo Search, and hundreds of other sites. We make updates of the data available weekly, but each partner has their own update schedule."

You should *not* submit your site to Google, Yahoo, and MSN more than once every 30 days.

    C. Although Google says that manually submitting your pages to their index is unnecessary, they have an interface for you to do so. www.google.com/addurl/ But don't be surprised if it takes weeks for Google to acknowledge your site's existence.

    D. MSN will seldom visit a website unless invited by submission. beta.search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx

    E. Yahoo frequents sites more than MSN but less than Google but will dramatically increase visits after submission. search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html

I hope this helps you and wish you happy blogging.

Mine is not indexed. Its been 3 months now...

DO NOT submit your site manually, as they do not give more importance to a blog that has been manually submitted, try to take some help by your friends etc. so that they'll first add ur blog to their blog/website and then it'll be indexed by Google/Yahoo bots (search spiders) automatically and then ur blog'll get more importance by these search engines !

Remember the good old days when all you had to do to get on the front page of Yahoo was to link to Canada.com...it was secretly known as the canada-method lol.

Fastest way I know to get on Yahoo quick is through mybloglog. Then the usual suspects.

If you can afford a bit of money, roughly 80.00 write a press release and submit it to prweb. You will see results pretty quick.

I hate to be blunt but if you aren't willing to invest some money into your blog you will get traffic eventually, but there are shortcuts and 80 bucks is pretty easy to save up. I know because I did it way back when lol.

I wish you all excellent traffic as quickly as possible.
