   If you upload an avatar to your BlogCatalog profile, when you visit BlogCatalog, your avatar will show up on the home page. This may lead to more traffic to your blog.

   Hi all,
   I'm fairly new to blogging and i've found a bunch of ways to drive extra traffic to my site, one thing keeps popping up which is true,the more posts you get the more you get listed in the search engines, obviously the more pages you get listed the more chance you have of being found via search engines.
   Also putting your blog in blog directories could be another useful way, I think the most important is making friends here, comment on others blogs which in turn makes them come and check your blog out.
   Before anything else though make sure you got some good content, and use topics that others can relate to.
   A good article can be subitted to digg and if you look at digg some of the most dugg articles get more than 2,000 visits.

    Its harder for a new blog to increase page views because it will have less content in the beginning. You have to choose a good design to make the visitor stay on your site. As bloggingmix said, put your best posts on your sidebar and make a custom article archive page.
