Thankyou for your advise, most of it are tried by me. Can you tell me some genuine sites to bring traffic to our site. I mean traffic exchanging sites.
  1. CelebrityIcePop
HI B, I checked out your blog, very interesting but I can spot an immediate problem, the headline title - your name.

When Google search engine finds relevant content for a searcher it often pics out the site title/description to feature. Users who see your title will not know that the content on your site is travel related as it's a personal name and does in any way inform the public what the site is about, so chances are they will skip your site in favour of something less ambiguous.
    1. Bharatheeyam
Bharatheeyam is not a personal name. Bharath is India's other name and Bharatheeyam means related to India. I am related to India, so I gave the name to it. Thankyou for your suggestion, It is right that title has some role in traffic. I just used site name in BC user name thats all.

I'd love to know the same thing. Hey, we can look at each others!
    1. Bharatheeyam
why not you are always welcome. Celebrityclepop gave good suggestions and lots of tips in her blog. But most of it are tried by me. Now I want to find some genuine site which can direct traffic to our blog and other advertising methods.
  3. Bharatheeyam
one of my friend now suggested to use twitter and other suggested increase the friends.

In blogging content is king and marketing is queen. If you write high quality original content and promote it then the result may be an increase in organic traffic, or not. If it’s not easy to locate your content in search engines then there will be no increase in new traffic. Thus, what determines success is two things:
    * whether or not your content is found, and
    * whether or not the readers who do find it become subscribers.
All bloggers need to focus on creating blogs that are reader and search engine friendly by learning and applying basic SEO techniques. In addition all bloggers need to create relationships with other bloggers by leaving meaningful comments on their blogs, and by encouraging “organic” traffic that translates into a faithful blog readership for your own blog by responding to the comments you get.
I believe you may find the advice and information in these posts to be helpful:

thankyou for your valuable suggestions. Is the social book marking sites are not good for traffic. I am new in blogging so I think it is not easy to come in SEO ranking.
  5. Bharatheeyam
Other friend of mine is suggested to use entrecard.
    1. chocofries
Yes, that's right. entrecard has given me some traffic when my blog was just starting.
  6. ankit1186
Also, try to visit as many blogs as you can and yes, please comment to get loyal visitors.
  7. timethief
    @Bharatheeyam
There are no quick and easy ways to increase targeted blog traffic, so don't let anyone mislead you on that subject.

On one hand, you can use various schemes like entrecard that will send you a flood on one hit wonders that produce a high bounce rate if you so choose, but doing that may have a negative effect on your blog's ranking.

On the other, you can patiently work in a step by step manner and do what's required to attract targeted traffic that will translate into faithful blog readers/ subscribers.
    1. Bharatheeyam
thankyou for your valuable opinion. I think there is some thing searious in it. I wish to get the clear picture of slow process
    2. LSKcrochet
      Entre Card is the worst!
    3. timethief
Indeed. I see members posting quick "methods" of securing a flood of one hit wonders that produce a high bounce rate. I can only assume they are either (1) uninformed about PageRank, linking and bounce rate, or they are (2) focused on securing ad clickers, rather than targeted readers who are more likely to become regular readers/subscribers.

  8. Bharatheeyam
I find bloggers who has high traffic is 4 and above. So we have to wait this much years?
  9. roentarre
I am pretty much a novice.

But I do get traffic from a group of friends who love to follow up on my photo posts. Especially the ones that I often talk to in various fora or social book marketing sites.

BC used to frustrate me because I get little traffic. But TT is right. I gain faithful readers from BC. Much better quality as readers rather than one off traffic
  10. Bharatheeyam
thankyou for the suggestion what is TT I can't understand.

I don't know Bharat, but now my site is about 150 visitor each day and I hope it'll increase to 1000 visitor. I don't do social engineering, tweeter, blog catalog just follow from you. Actually i'm passive one in making friend. But if you don't post something new, something hot that everyone look for, I think it's difficult to see your blog growing well. Here's my suggestion:

Just post and post... and you'll be heard. Post 1 each day

You don't have to having an original post, It's allright if you extract from other sources, but don't just copy and paste. Format and edit in your taste (delete, add, combine from other sources). You can include travelling tip and trick for example. anything

    i hope it'll help
    1. Bharatheeyam
thankyou for your advice, I will try my level best.
  13. mikeny07
What is really comes down to is Google putting you high in search results for keywords. If they never do it, you will never get a lot of traffic.
    1. Bharatheeyam
      how it will happened?
  14. aperd1
    Traffic how to...

    - All way's go to your related blog's and comment on their blog.
    - Write a arcticle.

    - Do adword!!!

Rest ... sit back and see all the traffic that you're making
    1. Bharatheeyam
Sure I shall follow these instruction, thankyou for the advice.

    1) Visiting other blogs related to your blog and leaving comments there has worked for me. Show an interest in what others have written, and those others will visit your blog. Most comment boxes have a space where you can leave a link; use that to link to your blog. Think about the long run and try not to leave links in your comments. If you say something interesting, people will click on your name and visit your blog.

    2) Make sure your blog is listed in Google Blogs, just do a search for how to add your blog. You should also create accounts at Yahoo Site Explorer and Live.com has a webmaster section.

    3) Create a sitemap (again, do a search to find out how to do that) and visit the following sites to add your blog to the other major search engines:

    webmaster.live.com/ping.aspx?siteMap=http://www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml
    search.yahooapis.com/SiteExplorerService/V1/ping?sitemap=http://www.yoursit...
    submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http%3A//www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml

where "http://www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml" is the URL and location of your sitemap.

You can also ping Google's Blog Search here:

    blogsearch.google.com/ping

    4) If you have ads on your blog, avoid social sites like StumbleUpon, Digg, etc. They don't bring targeted traffic, and usually all they do is end up lowering the amount of money you make from Google's Adsense program, since social network visitors are less likely to click on ads (unless you are using PHP or Javascript to filter ads for those visitors).

    5) Get listed in a targeted directory for your niche. Avoid the generic blog directories where different types of blogs are allowed. The chances of getting traffic from those types of directories are slim.

    6) Watch who is subscribing to or visiting your blog and market to them directly. A lot of my blog subscribers come from newsgator and bloglines, so I make sure I have subscribe buttons for those services to make it easy for those visitors to subscribe.

This is the best traffic exchange site i know up to now. the surf time is 6 seconds. but as discussed before, with it you can get easily traffic and you can use it at the beggining, later on when becoming more experienced you have to stay more in contact with people like you did with this topic.

personally I use twitter, keep in touch with the folks here that read my blog and let my visitor's know that I KNOW they are stopping in ... I find courtesy and a lil self promotion can go a long long way.

    Good Luck
    1. Bharatheeyam
I am also a member of twitter and enter card. But I didn't know yet how these sites work for traffic.

As I said in my post at the link above, FollowSite has sent me 3400 hits in less than 3 weeks. It is without a doubt the largest referrer I have every used.

My blog is still brand new but I know one thing that you definitely should do is make sure you submit your blog to as many search engines as possible.. especially dmoz.org, google and yahoo. Also, if you have facebook or myspace or another social community type profile, advertise to your friends on those and if you prefer to keep the blog and "regular" friends separate, consider creating a facebook page. Also, bookmark ping.com and send a "ping" every time you publish a new blog. I'll have a list on my blog within the next week hopefully, but there are tons of ways you can look into including simple things like commenting on blogs similar to yours. If you give good information, both that blogger and the other readers of that blog may click your name (which often goes directly to your blog) and they'll want to check you out. So far, that's how I am getting a lot of my hits. Goodluck!

I like to tell how to build, control and optimize a blog to get maximum exposure and profit. You are the emperor of your blog, and as a blog Emperor (owner) you have full power to do anything in your blog (empire). But there are also many kings within your blog and you have to administer and rule them wisely in other to expand or survive. It involves strategy, policy and ideas to achieve that.

Here is a tip to build a great blog empire.
