There are lots of ways to increase traffic. You can participate to article exchange with a link back to your blog. Join forum discussions, leave a comment with a link back to your site. Get your blog on top of the SERP(search engine result page) but this requires a lot of time. For more info. you can visit my blog freeseotipsandtricks.blogspot.com/

You can get traffic from lots of sites like entrecard and stumble and a host of other free schemes. You can even purchase traffic, but what real blogger, who can actually write, and who is not just looking to make a buck needs or wants a high bounce rate?
If you are a righteous blogger ie. an actual writer then you want faithful readers derived from organic traffic and that means that YOU have to deliver.
You need to focus on:
installing an appropriate and well designed theme on your own domain;
creating a reader and search engine friendly blog full of unique high quality content;
forming blog centered relationships with other bloggers by leaving meaningful comments on their blogs;
encouraging "organic" traffic that translates into a faithful blog readership for your own blog by responding to the comments you get promptly and in a friendly manner.
Organic Traffic: Organic traffic is any traffic that comes to your site without being paid for. This includes people who visit via links in forums and blogs, traffic from search engines, traffic from word of mouth, or traffic from bookmarks. Organic traffic generally comes to a site naturally and is not driven by marketing campaigns.
Inorganic Traffic: Inorganic traffic is traffic that is pushed via marketing campaigns. Banner ads, search engine ads, etc generate inorganic traffic. Generally speaking this form of traffic is semi-immediate depending on how much you blanket the Web with your advertising and slowly dies out over time unless more money is spent to build a new marketing campaign.
Tip: There are many threads you can locate on this perennial topic by using Discussion search in the forum sidebar.-

Actually I don't think that all members do appreciate my conciseness. Those who are truly bloggers do but these days the blogophere is polluted with pretenders, sploggers, blog scapers and plagiarists. To them a blog is something you fill with second hand information and pimp out for income. Consequently, they are obsessed with getting traffic to their sites.
Also I think that this member who posted the big block of advertising text above maybe a forum spammer who is resurrecting threads so he can post advertising links into them. You can let Admin make the call by simply clicking the report button on every thread he copy and pastes the advertising to. -

Yeah I agree with powerkor, you really know lots of stuffs on internet huh? I'm starting to be amazed on how internet savvy you are. You don't just deliver simple comments, instead you give them a whole bunch of useful ideas. You must be earning big from blogging lolz..=)
I do not monetize my blogs but thanks for the compliment

I've gotten increased traffic lately from some EZine articles, then you know they are interested in the topic. I added Feedjit just to see where they were coming from and a surprising number are from Google searches, but some are from the EZine articles (it'll definitely help some, but don't expect thousands more)... interesting.
I usually only see myself at Google if I search for myself (Jose Sinclair, I'm the first 5-6,t then some real estate broker in NJ! too funny, thought my nickname was unique!), otherwise my blogs are lost down the search somewhere.
However, search for Bible metaphysics and I should come up top 10 - I assume here that that's the whole subject of my blog, not the bible, nor religion - also that's a very specific subject to search for! Some college students have used that blog for theology or comparative religion papers, that made me feel useful by helping or teaching others. (bibledecoded.blogspot.com)
Best use of the internet: helping others attain their goals? or get the info they need for some purpose? hopefully not just entertainment..

Please read this:
When the Ban Hammer Comes Down on StumbleUpon sem-group.net/search-engine-optimization-blog/when-the-ban-hammer-comes-dow...
... there seems to be a common denominator that tends to get people in trouble with the SU powers-that-be, and that would be Stumbling pages under the same domain(s) or similar domains(s) too many times. In other words, if you have a blog and every time you write a new article you stumble and send it to the same friends, and they regularly stumble, you are creating a pattern of stumbling the same domain and sending to the same friends. Beware of this pattern!
