I few days ago I noticed a sudden shift in google search results. I actually mentioned it in the forums before but not many people responded, thus I guess many don't care or they don't optimise. But if you are a google-dependent blogger, such algorithm changes may be a sudden death for you.
I have put together some tips on protecting your positions in search engines at my blog post at best-web-hosting-reviews.blogspot.com/2009/02/how-to-secure-high-se-ranking...
What you will find is more comprehensive information about what happens with search results when Google updates its algorithms, how to write articles to bring traffic to your blog and common mistakes that bloggers make when submitting to article directories, why you should not spend money to buy article submitting software that promises thousands of back links, and why many bloggers fall flat on their face when trying to drive traffic to their blog from article directories.
If you have other tips, please feel free to leave a comment. Blog post comments are welcome.

Many blogger still do not realize the power of submitting the blog sitemap along when submitting to Google.
Why Google ask for your sitemap?????The answer lies there. Some people think that it just for a verification process. But that's wrong, verification process are different- The code or the file ask for you to upload is for the verification.
Sitemap is to help your blog and help Google simply crawl your blog post faster. Let me say It's your blog envoy and a companion to Google. -
Sitemaps status error- when You submiting your blog don't write adress www.yourblog.blogspot.com, write down yourblog.blogspot.com.After submit sitemap yourblog.blogspot.com/atom.xml.
And very important- how to make your blog visible for Searh Engines? I checked a lot of Blogs in our community and to my great surprise they doesn’t have Meta tags, descriptions, keywords visible for Search Engines! Look here online-income-opportunities-vorsta.blogspot.com/2009/02/meta-tags-are-ident...-
Hi all,
I have a couple of questions:
1.-When submiting my map in Google Webmaster Tools (GWT)I have the choice of writing the entire blog Url as the this is already in place myblog.blogspot.com/______ and I can only add the end of the Url (where the underline is)and click "Add Sitemap". Are you using another methods to submit your blog sitemap with GWT or another system?
2.- So far, I've only submited 1 sitemap following step 1 and adding in the underline /rss.xml (following some instructions I read in a blog). Is it the same than adding /atom.xml?
Thanks in advance

One of my Blog keeps bunching up and down on Google SERP lately. Sometimes it's easy to find it on the first page of SERP using several keywords I've assigned, but in the other day it just disappear from SERP as if it's never been exists. A few days later, it's coming back at the SERP, but not for long, it's disappear again.
I don't know why, but it's happening. Well, base on this case, I beleve there's nothing to do to protect SERP position. -
Now wonder some of my post ranks very well lately,
it seems that the new algorhythim has given me a lot of advatanges,
I guess when we use common keyword and not farrrrr too long tailed keyword works better...
The best way to rank well in Google...
1. Use Google Analytic.
2. Use Google Webmaster tool.
3. Submit your sitemap, check for broken links.
4. Write 80% for audience and think 20% like spider.-
the new algorithm is a temporary shift in re-indexing. Look what's going on now - if you are looking for a specific domain through google search box, instead of the domain itself, all kinds of crap pops up that remotely mentions that domain. It's a temporary situation as it has happened before. Last time my blogs were affected by a temp drop like this was in October 08
