Just wondering if anyone could Help with this Dilemna :
OK, a) I have a Blog on Blogger < [myblogname].blogspot.com >
b) I've joined a Blog Directory like this one [ BlogCatalog ], and others might include MyBlogLog and Bumpzee.
c) As a user, I have a profile and Blog URL link/reference to my Blog on each of these profiles.
d) My Listing here on BlogCatalog would be in the format of : www.blogcatalog.com/blogs/[myblogname].html

e) Somehow, *this* reference listing URL ends up on the Google search engine, and other search engines.

I was just wondering, though I don't own this reference URL, ( even though the page contains information that pertains to me... ), is there a/any way to submit a request to Google and other search engines to have these reference URLs Removed from public search engines ? so that second-level references to me don't get found on a search engine ??

[ I have already placed appropriate meta-tags on my actual Blog to have it's direct URL removed on the next web search crawl. ]

    I guess the Google does it with its robots.txt file. Take a look at Google's robots.txt:
    www.google.com/robots.txt

    I know very little about these things so I'll just give you links. Here's a discussion about Googlebot ignoring META tags in favor of robots.txt. Unfortunately, Blogspot doesn't allow editing of robots.txt

    URL restricted by robots.txt

    How do I use a robots.txt file to control access to my site?

      Thanks for the reply Gabatron.;

      I've placed appropriate meta-tag code on the template of my Blogger Blog, so the direct-URL should be removed from Google's index on the next Google crawl.

      However, I was sort-of referring more to a blog-directory's profile-page of me and its reference-pointer to my blog.
      I was looking for a way to remove from Google the ' BlogCatalog '-pointer to my BlogCatalog Blog-Description page, and respective pointer/reference pages on other directories such as MyBlogLog, Bumpzee and others.

      Does anyone know if this is possible and/or how it can be achieved ??

      ( Thanks for your reply and your assistance Gabatron - much appreciated. )

    Oh, I see. Maybe that refers to the "Disallow: /catalogs" or something of the robots.txt file.
