Many people have been asking me, "Is that Louis Vuitton fake?", "I saw this Chanel on ebay selling at just US$300, is it a good deal?" etc.

While there’re websites selling the genuine article, there’re just as many passing off counterfeit goods as the real thing. So before you put your salary or entire bonus into buying that dream bag, read & learn more. While I'm no expert myself, I'd like to share with you some guidelines on "How To Spot That Fake Bag".

Fake bags are gross. Plus, fake bags are created by sweatshops in China run by groups affiliated with criminal networks. Yes, you are contributing to international terrorism when you buy a fake bag.

Real bags are horrendously overpriced and you're supporting an army of marketers and their advertising when you buy them. Who really needs to go around showing off designer labels anyway?

I was directing my comments to the thousands of women in the US who do buy fake bags. I wasn't telling them to spend thousands on the real thing. I was encouraging them to avoid the entire counterfeit industry.

I absolutely support spending within your means. If you can't afford the real thing, don't buy at all. Support a local designer or buy a real bag with a much smaller price tag to begin with. Many purse designers offer a discount line for under 50 a bag. This obsession with designer bags in this economy borders on obscene anyway.

$50 Goog God! I can't even afford that! $50 buys a month supply of diapers of food for my family for a week to two weeks. Sorry, know it's made in a sweat shop and it is like $5.00 but that is all I can afford if I am lucky.

Label this, designer that. You end up with a pile of it in your place and for what? The whole economy is geared to buying stuff you really could do without.
    1. Stillthinking
I think that is essentially what I just said.

Actually, no. You said if you can't afford, don't buy at all. I'm saying don't buy even if you can afford it, don't buy even if there is a discount of 50 percent or more. Move away from consumerism, turn your back on it. Get by with less and live more.
    1. Stillthinking
I don't think that's realistic. It's certainly idealistic, but I just don't see people turning their backs to consumerism.

Isn't it better to have them take little steps and at the very least, stop supporting criminals and live within their means?

Sure, and it's not that big a step to ask yourself: do I really need to buy this?

Mr Letters home, women are different, we love quality bags when we see one. I would be very upset if i bought a fake LV bag. Good site girl

I *will* spend my money on a good quality bad, and not ashamed to admit it. Fake bags are one thing...but the real deal? Come on! You get what you pay for...and I pay for *quality craftsmanship.* Why is that so difficult to understand?

Hey, thks for all your comments. I think we should just stay away from counterfeits. We shouldn't even be supporting the illegals, child labour etc. Reason why luxury labels are priced sky-high is really for those who can afford or are willing to fork out their $$$ for quality goods.

I've written the guidelines because one of my ex-colleagues was almost cheated on ebay into buying the authentic LV. So I'm hoping the little tips will help those who have the intention to shop online.

I don't believe women are different, they've just been targeted so heavily by advertisers for decades and decades about what they should buy and brainwashed to feel guilty if they don't keep up. It's not their fault, it's marketing.

Many customers hesitate to do business with replica cheap Louis Vuitton handbags and designers replica handbag online because they fear the items will be seized by customs. We fully understand the concern as this is usually the case with other online companies. At www.europehandbag.com we use the most safe shipping way to handle your package, i.e. EMS and Hong Kong Post to reduce the chance of being confiscated. And we will be fully responsible for goods confiscated by China customs.

I actually like designer bags - and if I buy ANYTHING designer - I put out the money for it... Which means I save up for months for ONE thing in a special account designed for just THAT - and If I still want that ONE thing - I buy it when I have enough for it.

I don't like dealing with "FAKE" things -- the reason for that - is that when people buy the designer things they make the designer folks bump up the prices because they are being "copied" - so that much more for the originals.

I also think it's a shame that people STEAL designs.

If you don't like logos - then don't buy them - but to buy imitation - is an embarrassment.

I mean - would you wear a fake rolex? What's the point?

    LOL!

Don't take it to mean that I have a lot of designer things -- Because I don't... But I do appreciate the Designer Logo and the impact it has on the economy and the society.

TO me -- seeing a woman wear a Prada --- it's like WOW - that woman spent MONTHS saving for that and picking THAT PARTICULAR one out... That says to me: perserverance, respect for the society image, time spent and money managed IMPRESSIVE.

To me -- seeing someone wear a cheap imitation knock off - says: Looking for the easy way out - not able to save up for a product - wants the fast fix and doesn't really have the desire to truly wear or purchase the real logo - SAD.

Hopefully that isn't a bad attitude --- it's not like I hang with folks who wear expensive stuff or that I have expensive stuff - but more like my opinion of logo and knock off logo.

I'd hate to be imitated.... LOL!
