Cool. Did you enjoy San Francisco? I visited there briefly twelve years ago. At the pier there was a shop where I purchased a few sandcastles.

I am from the Bay Area (20 mi east off of SF)

@ Elaine - There were some folks from that area, did not get the opportunity to visit this time around as our program was packed.
@ Theresa - What a wonderful city. People actually went the x-tra mile to show you directions. All smiles at "strangers" were returned. Fisherman's Wharf - is that what you meant?

Theresa might have been at Pier 39...it is nothing but little shops with an amazing array of things like candles, sandcastles, kites, etc.

I lived in the SF Bay Area from 1974 to 2003 when I moved to South Africa. I was south of SF in Silicon Valley.

i was born and raised there, but kinda don't want to be around for the next big quake, LOL... so i have decided to try living in many other states for the experience. it's always "home" though, since most of my family is still there. glad you had a good time there!! the City By The Bay is pretty amazing...

@pillownaut - this thread was started more than a year ago. It had been my second visit. So much to see and not enough time. Will have to return one of these days. To me Frisco is a city of spring! Where are you now. Hope nearby the ocean!
