Last Monday, after few months of pondering If i should see a doctor or not, I demanded my insane self to move fast and see a Physician. The office set an appointment for me at the Makati Medical Center.

The next day, someone whispered to see my doctor friend instead in the same hospital. I got my key, my fave bag and my fake Gucci shirt , headed straight to his clinic.

The first time I puffed a cigarette when I was in elementary at the house of my neighbor. It was in my high school years where I am officially a smoker. I was hooked into cigarettes for 20 years. Until one day….I met 'singkit", begging me everyday to stop smoking because it could cause my death and he dont want me to die (giggling). In the morning of August 13, 2008, as I woke up, he told me that its over between me and him. He is leaving because he cant stop me from smoking. Starting on that day, too, I never had a cigarette in my hand until the time Im writing this journal.

As day goes by, I experienced many changes. For one, I love to eat junk foods plus softdrinks, rapid weight loss, shakiness and muscle weakness, trembling in the hands and my whole body, I easily get irritated, nervousness and anxiety - even if there's no need to be nervous, like calling or talking to somebody.

I had a series of laboratory test.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Is my hyperthyroidism trying to kill me?

Let us all remember that good health is the best asset in the world. A proper well-being is one of the most exequisite possessions we can have on earth. It is a gem we should always remember to protect. But on the contrary, it is quite ironic that some people don’t really give this adage much weight in our lives. We tend to be vicious even if we know the disadvantages.

I am also guilty of a few unhealthy habits that I consciously fortify. While younger, I believe that being young warrants us to ignore our health; thinking that sickness only befall the weak and old. This is a very arrogant belief though.

I have a healthy life now. I want to live more more years for my family and for my 'singkit' (ehem)

I had a thyroid problem in 1992. After tests, he doctor said I had to have my thyroid removed as I was critical as my results were extreme. I said, give me a week.

I went to see two therapists. One used these very strange homeopathics called Sanjivani's and another was an 80 year old herbalists, he showed me his bullet wounds from the second world war. He gave me some herbs and iodine.

I had a dream and the Buddha Chenrezig touched me on the thyroid, I am not Buddhist but had done a Buddhist meditation years earlier. I went back to the doctor and was retested. My results were fantastic, he took my case to a medical convention. They told him "You made a mistake"

    My thyroid is fine now

We often fear the unknown and most of what we fear never happens. But your fear is real and nothing to ignore. I believe with help from your friends you can move beyond your fear. I would also encourage if you aren't already check out what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

      I know prayers really works.

Ive been so down before and i realized that someone all those years i forgot to call and it was Him. I went to Him and we talk and after awhile miracles came.

My friend had a hyperactive thyroid. The doctors took most of it out. She eats healthy, gained some weight and is perfectly fine now.

Well, I don't have a hyperactive thyroid, but i was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure six years ago. I'm 32 years old and has been on dialysis for six years now. I just wanted to say that I never got depressed on being sick, not even once, simply because I have a strong optimism in life and faith in HIM. Life is beautiful... it's what I learned throughout my illness.
