Hello y'all,

I blog from the "middle of nowhere" SW Utah where we are "online" via satellite. We do have electricity (thankfully) and regular phone service... but beyond that, it's satellite only.

We raise sheep and chickens... and have a young horse who's "in training".

I'd love to read other blogs about living in the country...

Do you spin? I have Merino wool... black, and very hard to come by in the USA.

Do you have horses? We're always looking to exhange info.

How about chickens? It's the latest "hip thing to do"... have a few suburban (or even urban) chickens. Nothing beats a farm-fresh egg... as in just hours old.

I make it a point to visit folks who leave comments, so thanks in advance for your support.

Holy smokes, 94F on your farm? I would die!

Do you need a farm hand? I've always wanted to live out West. Beautiful horse you have!

Sounds like you've got a nice set-up there Shari. I bet "Mom" does some great home cooking. If I could make a request...how about some detailed posts describing a few meals with pictures?

It's been a long time since I had good, simple, home-made western food. Pies, bread...ahhhhh *slobber*

wow! Sounds like an interesting life. I guess I can't live without high speed internet. What a shame!

    You've got a real life.

94F isn't that bad. We are having 116F down here in Arizona. HOT!

I like your unique blog. Subscribed!

    Thanks folks!

Decoratorinside, I'm bookmarking your blog... we're gonna need all the help we can get in the future. It will be a couple of years before we get to the inside of our home... it's pretty livable, and we have a long list of high priority things.

Unfortunately, right now, I'm the "farm hand" as I'm really the only one who has an "ag" background.

Sportsnarrative, I'll see if I can get "Mom" to part with a recipe or two. We don't really eat the hearty "western meals" very frequently. If we did... we'd be too fat to move in this heat.

Writingtrue, very interesting blog... Way back in my history is a college degree... BMEd (Bachelor of Music Education)

Neoauteur, thanks, your blog is also quite interesting. The story about the elephants and their wrath is particularly poignant. That's quite a lesson about living in harmony with the land around us.

Terencechang, thanks for subscribing. We're having a little "cool down" here today. We got the first measurable rain in over 100 days last night.

About that internet... it's Hughes Net and is actually pretty fast. The only time I notice a difference is in voice transmission and some chat software.

Best of success to you in all your endeavors. Having seen financial success online, you can get there with a lot of persistence, and proper prior planning.

Visited your blog, tried to "DIGG" it, read the

"Hello y'all! Yep, I've returned to my country roots after nearly 60 years. Call it checking out, or chilling out, I'm choosing to live a very rural life."

Also checked the July 2007 archive.

There's a lot of lavender space on that shari-thomas.blogspot.com blog - My user picture disappeared yesterday, you might want to check and see if all the pieces are in your blog.

    What I saw looked fine.

Oh, right: your question. I don't blog "country life," but one of my blogs, "Through One Dad's Eye" is observation and experience of life in a town of 4,000: the biggest population center for about 20 miles ( smalltowndad.blogspot.com/ ).

Hardly "country," but some folks might think so.
