But, this guy's set up is so cluttered

plotdog.com/

I meant, where is the tofu. It's just a blog of sidebar. What in the world. Half the blog is widgets...

Can someone please tell me they have the same view on this blog.

I don't have opinions about things that don't affect me.

Oh my gosh can I steal that and start saying it all the time?
  2. monkeytale
I've seen worse. I'm not a fan of 3 column blogs though.
  3. ekim941
That is very hard to read and over monetized but to each, his own I guess.
  4. kat822
It is busy, not a fan of the 3 column blog unless it's filled with info

So why would you send traffic to the blog if you don't like it?

But yeah, I've seen better executions of the three-column format. Given that and the adsense add in each post, it's a wonder anyone will find content. But so what?

Why bother doing it then. There are plenty of kick-ass uncluttered blog to read.

Driving traffic to a blog you don't like, eh .... DUH! Really I believe it's time for me to log out. lol

Yah .. I agree .. this thread is in poor taste .. "bath mouthing another blogger" in a public forum.

    Shame on you.

I see nothing wrong with the site you mention

Why would one waste their time posting such an sophomoric thread? Did it not occur to you that a real human being sits at the other end of that blog? How do you think they're gonna feel when they trackback to this? Just wrong, on so many levels. And lastly, I see nothing wrong with his/her blog.

Judging by the response here I'd say they might actually be delighted that the nay-sayers are outnumbered

I have to agree with daniel23, DocNicole & PetLvr. Nothing needs to be said.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm new to blogging and trying to achieve a good balance. I'll have a look at the layout. Thanks to all the naysayers and I am open to criticism.

Nothing wrong with THAT blog...or with YOUR blog for that matter.

I didn't think it was too bad. Perhaps a little bit cluttered, but I think I could live with that personally. I've seen worse, to put it mildly.

I dont mind three column blogs at all...
www.aussiecynic.com is mine and she 3 but it is all the way you lay it out.... got planning before you up load....
I guess if the author is happy with it... but they will refine depending how serious about blogging they are...

I am the technical person on the blog plotdog.com . Thanks for the positives, negatives, and the advice, I will be refining the blog over time, we've been at it for a few weeks only.

DrBurst, It never hurts to express an opinion, its the way you do it. Check out our post on that subject: plotdog.com/?p=34 No harm, no foul, keep in touch as we improve.

I have no problem w/ it. I am a widget fiend and to each his own. You're not hurting anyone promoting violence so whatever.
  19. sincerae
I kind of like it. But then I can tend to over clutter whereever I am in life. I also adore widgets. Add a little more writing though:)

Going to someone's blog is like visiting their home away from home. Some people like knick-knacks (widgets) and some people like to keep it clean. Each person likes to "decorate their home" in a way that they see fit. I like the variety;and the idea of never knowing what you will get as you click on each one is absolutely delightful - Nards.
    1. findmesoftware
yes.. I agree with you Nardeeisms...

      Well said Nards.

    Hi Everyone,

I am PlotDog, the guy who writes the content in the blog in question. I really appreciate everyone’s opinions. This is my first attempt at a blog. It is a bit wide ranging in purpose and I would be completely lost without AvidReader’s help. I am so new to this I haven’t even gotten all the way through the Dummies guide. So, every opinion, good bad or indifferent, is helpful to make it so I can build a better blog-away-from-home. I pretty much stick to content and the big ideas. If you all have comments to that portion of the blog as well please feel free to express them. I hope my posting on being a critic shows my perspective on how people look at others work. For my side, other writers tell me that writing a blog demeans me as a writer. I think they are nuts. This is a blast and I believe that anyone who gets enjoyment from my writing just makes my day better. Thanks for your time, effort and energy in looking at my cyber home.

No offense at all. Just really wanted to give a shout up to AVIDREADER.... I couldn't do this without her help. I am pretty tough skinned about people who comment about work, of course I agree with those who love it :). My biggest weakness as a writer, (other than spelling, grammar, structure...oh you get the point) is that I am a bit of a feedback tramp on content. Those who live by the word, die (or at least lay on the ground in a fetal position) by the word. lol. Ok, I don't do the fetal thing, but I do crave feedback.

I was actually thrilled to have the above posts. It means eyes are seeing my work in some form or another and soon maybe I can get them into content.

It is also a remarkable way to make new friends. Count me in your group Theresa.

    Thanks to all.
