Discussions

Claire's thread on group dynamics got me wondering.

Although I'm a regular contributor to discussions, and although it must be obvious I'm not altogether vacuous and have some facility with language, few regulars in forum discussions (with some wonderful exceptions) have ever bothered to visit my blog let alone comment.

I write aphorisms and am one of a tiny handful of practitioners of this literary genre throughout the world. Most quotations you read in books have been hijacked from larger works-essays, novels, poems, political speeches, historical and philosophical texts.

I feel that even among aphorists my content and style of writing are quite original and unique. I've added a touch of whimsy and poetry to the form. So I invite all regulars in forum discussions to visit my blog and have a taste of this rare and somewhat exasperating literary genre.

It isn't a blog promotion thread unless you link drop. get to it

No way! It improves his blog rating here at BC if you click through his avatar, and it puts the rating buttons right up on top while you read it.

No ways did someone really report that?

    dear nothingprofound,
you should have added your url for easy access, though we can go through via media.. but you know how lazy people are.

Hats off Nothingprofound for having self-created aphorisms. I'm sure few realize how much time and love it takes to hammer one out.

I will be reading them again.

I do not get the genre that is aphorisms, it leaves me confuddled.

      Pff stupid girl!
He writes about the countless black nights he has spent under the faux protection of a canvas roof in steamy highlands of central Africa, studying aphors. So his blog, if you had bothered to read it!, is about his time in the jungle looking for aphors for his aphorphile website and then his vain attempts in trying to dispel age old myths and filthy legends that have built up about sexual habits of the common bush aphor.

Claire-think of it as an abbreviated form of poetry. A kind of Western haiku. Where thought has been pared down to its bare minimum.
    3. crpitt
      I prefer:

There was a girl called pitty, whose mood could be somewhat shitty.

      Type things.

Poetry either speaks to me or it does not, the same with certain pieces of art,but I wont rule them out altogether

crp: Fair enough. We all have our own tastes. That's what makes us who we are.

I think it is just the term aphorisms that puts me off. Also lots of college reading lately has turned my brain to mush.
    6. dcarroll
For college, college reading and writing are important. For writing, life is most important. I've done the college thing and many years of the life thing. Life is more important, unless you are writing a deep, deep philosophical text, then No-Doz is essential.

Luckily my diploma thing is extremely life related. which is draining at times, but rather excellent for the majority

I have visited your blog before and enjoyed what I read. There's just not enough evilness there for me. But I hearts you anyway.
    1. nothingprofound
Alas, Suzie. All the evilness has left me. I'm on the bright side of the moon now. But I got there by walking on the dark side.
    2. MissSuzie
As long as you come visit me from time to time, I can deal with that.
  7. stellak
